The first US project from 1997-1998 involved automated testing of a new router for voice and video traffic using TCL and C. The testing covered inter and intra vendor protocols, multi-hop scenarios, and testing interfaces running various routing, switching and bridging protocols across different arrangements and throughputs.

Automated testing (TCL, C) of “new router” for voice and video traffic
in all of the arrangements outlined in tables on following pages. Coverage
included inter and intra vendor protocols testing, multi-hop testing and
testing of all of the flavors of interfaces running and forwarding traffic using
routing, switching and bridging protocols in multiple location-type
arrangements and for varying throughputs.
