The American Red Cross will kick off its Home Fire Preparedness Campaign on October 25th in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Volunteers will gather at 9am to canvass neighborhoods, install smoke alarms, and discuss fire safety. The goal of the national 5-year campaign is to reduce U.S. fire deaths and injuries by 25% by installing 500,000 smoke alarms per year and educating households about checking alarms and practicing drills. On the 25th, volunteers will install alarms and provide information to residents around Williamsport.
