ACQC Community HIV/AIDS Training Institute AIDS Center of Queens County (ACQC) is an education & prevention, housing; mental health, legal, health & wellness, and harm reduction service for people live with HIV/AIDS and others. Its’ Community HIV/AIDS Training provides extensive training program. Upon completion of this six- week training, individuals will receive a certificate of completion and can become certified peer educators. New York Methodist Hospital Paramedic Institute
Are you ready to become a well-trained paramedic in 2015? Are you an emergency medical technician who is prepared for an emergency medical disaster?
New York Methodist Hospital (a New York Presbyterian Hospital institution) is hosting a paramedic training program for Emergency Medical Technicians in Brooklyn, New York. Paramedic students can apply for the following grants: Federal Pell Grant Program, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG), and NY State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP). The New York Methodist Hospital will also make available to their students: Ford Direct Student Loans, Ford Direct Plus Loans, Sallie Mae Smart Option Loans, and Wells Fargo Career & Community College Loans. December 11, 2014 was created in concert with the National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
The program's overall objectives are to prepare participants to:
Recognize signs and symptoms of disaster work-related stress
Obtain support through your employer/organization and community resources
Build your own resilience by demonstrating stress reduction and coping strategies
We are encouraging our partner organizations to host these trainings for program managers, case managers, volunteer coordinators, team leaders, field coordinators, and volunteers and I think it will be a great fit for members of the COAD. We are currently offering one and two hour trainings for staff and volunteers as well as four hour training specially designed for supervisors. Long Term Recovery Group meeting to advocate sharing community service resources the public who have concerning worries about the Far Rockaway community, available community resources, and local sanitation.

The 100th Precinct Community Council Holiday Food Drive
The 100th Precinct Community Council, along with St. Camillus and St. Virgilius Parish, will be hosting Holiday Food Drive at 102-00 Shore Front Parkway in the main lobby on Thursday December 11th.
