To find the rate, divide the percentage by the base. To find the base, divide the percentage by the rate. To find the percentage, multiply the rate by the base. For example, if the rate is 10%, the base is 240, and the percentage is 24, then the rate is 0.10 or 10%, as 24/240 = 0.10. If the percentage is 24, the rate is 40%, and the base is unknown, then the base is 24/0.40 = 60. If the base is 550 and the rate is 40%, then the percentage is 0.40 * 550 = 220.
