Why a family cookbook?
• Didn’t want to one day become a mother one
  day who couldn’t provide wholesome meals to
  my children

• I grew up eating family dinners every night

• Creating and learning something useful

• My grandmother
Process
• 1. Beginning of process, I coordinated with my
      grandmother, mom, and my three aunts
  • Called my grandmother and went over to her
    house
  • Invited my aunts over to discuss cookbook
  • Talked with my mom
Process
• 2. Learning the recipes
  • Grandmother came over once a month to help
    me learn to cook these recipes
Putting it all together
• 3. Typing up the cookbook

     -43 recipes

     - typing, editing, revising
Challenges
• Problems with my computer

• Getting it printed
Project Facilitator
• My project Facilitator was Ms. Carnes
  •   Gave me websites to create my cookbook on
  •   Helped me create the outline for the cookbook
  •   Find websites for research paper
  •   Tips on how to cook recipes in healthy way
  •   Told me how to substitute my ingredients
What I learned
• Don’t always have to be exact

• Experiment with foods

• Substitute ingredients

• Practice makes perfect

• Not to give up

• Encouraged me to better my diet
