Review on content based video lecture retrievaleSAT Journals
Abstract Recent advances in multimedia technologies allow the capture and storage of video data with relatively inexpensive computers. Furthermore, the new possibilities offered by the information highways have made a large amount of video data publicly available. However, without appropriate search techniques all these data are hardly usable. Users are not satisfied with the video retrieval systems that provide analogue VCR functionality. For example, a user analyses a soccer video will ask for specific events such as goals. Content-based search and retrieval of video data becomes a challenging and important problem. Therefore, the need for tools that can be manipulate the video content in the same way as traditional databases manage numeric and textual data is significant. Therefore, a more efficient method for video retrieval in WWW or within large lecture video archives is urgently needed. This project presents an approach for automated video indexing and video search in large lecture video archives. First of all, we apply automatic video segmentation and key-frame detection to offer a visual guideline for the video content navigation. Subsequently, we extract textual metadata by applying video Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology on key-frames and Automatic Speech Recognition on lecture audio tracks. Keywords—Feature extraction, video annotation, video browsing, video retrieval, video structure analysis
This presentation is a short introduction of Dr. Chung-Ching Huang about his design practice, research and pedagogy in the past through now to the future.

3. Abstract
The live subtitles glasses for deaf individuals is a project aimed at developing a
wearable device that can provide real time subtitles for people who are deaf or hard
to hearing . The device consists of a microphone , Arduino board, Bluetooth module
and a small OLED display screen mounted on a pair of glasses. This technology will
allow individuals to read the spoken words as they happen , giving them greater
access to communications in various selling.
The project serves as a practical application of emerging technology to support
inclusivity and accessibility for all.

Scope of the project
Deaf individuals often face challenges in understanding spoken language and
participating in conversations.
Communication barriers can lead to social isolation, limited educational opportunities,
and reduced access to important information.
Live subtitle glasses offer a solution by providing real-time captions to help bridge this
gap.
5. Introduction
• The technology behind live subtitle glasses involves a combination of speech
recognition algorithms and natural language processing capabilites.
• As the wearer engages in a conversation, the glasses use built in microphones or a
wireless connection to capture the spoken words.
• The speech recognition software then translate the speech into text , which is
displayed as real-time subtitles on the glasses screens.
• The accuracy of the speech recognition software can vary, and complex or
specialized vocabulary may pose challenges for accurate transcription.

Working
Live subtitle glasses use a combination of speech recognition technology, natural language
processing algorithms, and augmented reality (AR) to transcribe spoken words into text and
display them on the glasses' lenses or a connected device .Here a step-by-step breakdown of
how live subtitle glasses typically work.
Step-by-Step breakdown of how live subtitle glasses typically work:
• Microphone: The glasses are equipped with a microphone or a set of microphones to
capture the audio from the surrounding environment.
• Speech Recognition: The audio captured by the microphone is then processed using
advanced speech recognition technology. This technology converts spoken words into text.

10. Contd…
• Text Processing: The recognized text is processed to improve accuracy by applying
language models and algorithms. This helps to correct any errors or inaccuracies in
the transcription.
• Display: The glasses have a built-in display, usually in the form of a small screen or a
heads-up display (HUD). The transcribed text is displayed on this screen in real-time.
• In simpler words the microphone will capture the speech and convert it to text using
speech recognition software .The text will then be displayed on the glasses in real
time allowing the wearer to read the conversation
