Over Easter you should have
decided what media(s) you would
like to use for your final outcome.
You now need consider how you
want to present your work…
-What image(s) do you want to
use?
-Do you want to create one large
scale piece or create a series of
images?
-Do you need to buy any
materials (eg: a canvas)
Next … you
are going to
develop your
final idea
further so you
are able to
come into the
exam confident
and organised
ready to create
a successful
final outcome.
Over the next two weeks
you need to create 2-3
final piece ideas. These
can be formatted in a
variety of ways. You may
want to create ideas
straight onto the boards
or create small canvases
or sculptures that you
photograph and then
write about on your
boards (loose work will
also be submitted)
I have decided to create a large scale
painting to represent my theme
‘distortion’. Here is one of the images I
am considering using for my final piece.
I have used acrylic paint and I feel this
has worked well to show different tones
as well as the distortion and the
movement in the image
Here is the second image I am considering
using for my final piece. I have again acrylic
paint tat has helped me build up the range of
colours and movement in the image. At this
stage I feel Idea one is a more striking image
for a final outcome.
Idea one Idea two
You can have
more than one
design on a
board or have
each board as a
separate design
idea

media you have
used, your
opinions etc

Your design ideas may show a range of different images you are thinking of using for
one final outcome as shown in the two examples below.
You may have already chosen the image you want to use so your
final designs might simple be trying out different colour schemes
that you could use.
Idea one Idea two Idea three
Your designs might be if
you want your final
piece to be one large
image or a series of
images.
If you have
decided to
create a
mixed media
piece. Your
design ideas
maybe trying
out different
combinations
of materials
for your final
piece
If you want to create 3D work make sure you experiment with your chosen material.
This will probably mean creating a small model and maybe trying some sections to a
larger scale
- What is my idea?
- How does it link to my
theme?
- What will I need to
consider if I create
this in the exam?
- What has worked
well?
- Is there anything I
would change/adapt?
For extra marks explore
your chosen idea further.
Create a final board with
an image of your chosen
idea and an explanation
on why you have chosen
it. During the exam you
could also take
photographs of your work
as you go along to stick
on this board and at the
end write a brief
evaluation
