YR 10 PRINTMAKING PROJECT
COLLECTIONS AND NARRATIVES
Moving ideas on……
• Once your first collections and narratives final
piece is completed and evaluated – you are
then ready to move on.
• You need to decide if you want to develop
your narrative further to produce more
images that maybe made into a lino print…..
• Or
• Change direction and start a new sub-theme
under ‘collections and narratives’.
Option one
• Develop your narrative idea further.
• Stop and look back through your work –
reread your narrative.
• What else can you draw?
• Make those drawings – you may need to work
from real objects or from photos you have
taken.
Option two
• Begin a new printmaking brainstorm
• Brainstorm around these sub headings……
• Natural form
• Made form
• Remember our main theme is still ‘collections
and narratives’ so these 2 subheadings must
link.

Next steps……
• Create a range of 4 observational studies
linking to your sub-theme.
• Create 6 thumb nails sketches showing a
range of compositional ideas. Think about
cropping, zooming in, repeating etc.
• Create stamp designs (see slide below).
• Draw out your best 3 compositions,
experiment with different colours.
