1) Henry takes candid photos of a woman named Rose from his street without her knowledge over several days. 2) He dresses formally and presents the photos to Rose at her home, hoping to introduce himself. 3) However, Rose feels uncomfortable and asks him to leave. Henry's expression turns menacing though Rose does not notice. 4) Later that night, Henry kills Rose in a rage over her rejection. The photos are later found burnt and torn at his home.

1. SHUTTER
EXT. STREET – DAY
HENRY is taking a picture of something, he whistles while taking the
picture. He is taking pictures of flowers and nature, he seems to
think this is meant to be captured and kept frozen in time.
He suddenly catches a glimpse of a young lady named ROSE in her
balcony. She is watering the plants, her movements graceful.
PROTAGONIST lowers his camera and smiles as he raises to take a
candid picture of her. He stays hidden behind a pillar.
EXT. STREET – DAY
HENRY is seen in the same place again with his camera, but this time,
rather than taking pictures of his usual flowers, he searches for the
woman he had seen previously. ROSE appears at her balcony.
HENRY
(sighs in relief)
He lifts his camera to take yet another picture of her. He leaves
after taking the picture.
EXT. STREET – NIGHT
HENRY takes another picture of the young lady.
(SEVERAL DAYS GO BY WITH THE SAME ROUTINE)
INT. RED ROOM – NIGHT
HENRY hangs the collection of pictures up delicately, leaving them to
dry after soaking them in trays of water.
INT. BATHROOM – DAY
HENRY stands in front of the mirror, turning his head from side to
side, scratching his stubble. He shaves, a drop of blood dripping
from the small, fresh cut on his chin. After wiping his face with a
towel, he steps out into his bedroom.
INT. BEDROOM – SAME DAY
He puts on a white formal shirt, with a black blazer.

2. LOUIS ARMSTRONG
(La vie en rose starts playing)
Hold me close and hold me fast,
HENRY adjusts his bow tie and grabs the collection of pictures from
his bedside table. His camera is kept carefully next to it.
EXT. OUTSIDE ROSE’S HOUSE – DAY
HENRY gathers his composure and knocks on the door.
LOUIS ARMSTRONG
(the song continues)
The magic spell you cast,
This is La Vie En Rose.
ROSE opens the door for him, smiling as she asks him to come in.
INT. ROSE’S HOUSE – DAY
HENRY hands her the collection of candid pictures that he took
throughout the past couple of days. ROSE’S expression is unreadable
as she looks through them. She looks up at him questioningly.
LOUIS ARMSTRONG
When you kiss me heaven sighs,
And though I close my eyes,
I see La Vie En Rose.
ROSE says something to him, displaying an emotion of feeling
uncomfortable in his presence, she hurriedly hands the pictures back
to him and asks him to leave politely.
LOUIS ARMSTRONG
(music muffles, as though HENRY is unable to hear well)
When you press me to your heart,
I’m in a world apart,
A world where roses bloom.

3. HENRY’S expression contorts to a menacing countenance, though this
goes unnoticed by ROSE as she has her back turned towards him.
EXT. OUTSIDE ROSE’S HOUSE/STREET – DAY
HENRY’S pace increases as the feeling of betrayal and hatred fumes
within him. He is unable to comprehend why he had been turned down.
INT. ROSE’S HOUSE – NIGHT
HENRY raises a knife, stabbing ROSE, his emotions placid– as though
he isn’t responsive to what he is doing. Blood splatters across his
face.
LOUIS ARMSTRONG
Give your heart and soul to me,
And life will always be
La Vie En Rose.
INT. HENRY’S HOME – NIGHT
The series of pictures are seen on his bedside table, burnt and torn.
