The document discusses the target audience for a media product described as a thriller opening. It indicates that the target audience is teenagers ages 15-21, as the use of enigma would appeal to their interest in thrillers. To support this, there is a mood board and profile provided that depict typical activities, interests and tastes of stereotypical teenagers, such as using social media, watching movies, and shopping for branded clothes. Feedback from the target audience is also presented, with positive comments about the location, shots, music and narrative/camerawork, but negative feedback about some shaky camerawork and wind noise interfering with audio.

The document discusses the possibility of extraterrestrial life and provides arguments both for and against its existence. It defines extraterrestrial life as any life existing beyond Earth and describes hypothetical alien life forms. Some key points made include that ancient astronauts may have aided in building structures like the Egyptian pyramids, evidence of UFO sightings and government cover ups, and the discovery of possible biogenic material in the Martian meteorite ALH84001 that suggests life may have existed on Mars. While some scientists like Sagan believe life likely exists elsewhere, there is no definitive proof of aliens. Opinions on their potential existence or contact with humans are mixed.
The document discusses how the opening of a student film uses conventions of the thriller genre. It establishes the setting as a city café through an establishing shot with the title. Costumes of suits and formal wear were chosen to portray the professionalism expected of spy thriller characters. Shots like low angles were used to highlight a character's authority. Music, hidden identities, and an exchange of information between characters aim to generate suspense and questions in the audience as is typical in thrillers. The opening aims to set up intrigue around the microchip being exchanged.
The document discusses techniques learned from a preliminary task that were applied to a full film product. It notes the replication of match on action shots to show continuity of movement through doors. Shot reverse shot was also used for character conversations, as in the preliminary task. The 180-degree rule for camera placement was followed to avoid confusing the audience, as learned previously.

The document discusses the importance of having a supportive presence for children through hugs and understanding when needed. It also emphasizes developing a hopeful attitude over time through choosing one's own perspective, as the last freedom is choosing one's own way despite life's circumstances. Music is mentioned at the end.
The document discusses how the thriller opening attracted and addressed its audience through the use of genre conventions. It describes how the characters, iconography, narrative, themes, and media language used in the opening appealed to viewers and established it as a thriller genre film. Specifically, it notes that the characters fit stereotypical thriller roles, the narrative created mysteries for the audience to solve, and techniques like shot types and editing kept viewers engaged. Overall, the opening attracted audiences by following conventions of the thriller genre.
The document discusses the use of GIS (geographic information systems) for resilience in London. It begins by introducing the London Resilience Team and their assumption that GIS can help with both prevention of and response to crises. Currently, GIS is used for composite risk mapping, flood mapping from the Environment Agency and Drain London, and tracking public health and public disorder incidents. However, barriers to greater use include issues around policy, understanding, data quality and sharing. If these barriers are overcome, GIS could enhance situational awareness, help coordinate resource deployment, and allow for pattern analysis over time to improve emergency response. The document advocates for common data standards and harnessing big data and real-time information to build a
What have you learnt about technologies from theestablished2013
The document discusses various technologies used during the process of creating a media project. Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 was used for editing footage, adjusting audio levels, and adding titles. A camera and tripod were used to film steady shots. Microsoft Word and PowerPoint helped plan shots and demonstrate IT skills. Google was used for research, images, and mood boards. YouTube was used for research, preliminary tasks, and the final film upload. Wikipedia provided information on thriller genres and films. Blogger hosted research, definitions, planning, progress tracking, and work from the media course.

This document discusses meandering river systems. It describes how meanders form through the erosion of the outer bank and deposition on the inner bank, creating sinuous bends in the channel over time. Key features of meandering rivers discussed include point bars, natural levees, crevasse splays, and oxbow lakes. The document also covers the helical flow processes responsible for erosion and deposition patterns in meander bends and defines the different facies deposits found in meandering river channels.
This document outlines the key aspects of fluvial channels and deposits. It discusses the origin and stages of river development from mountainous sources. The main forms of fluvial channels are straight, anastomosing, braided, and meandering, with braided bars and point bars being the main deposits. Fluvial deposits have economic importance as aquifers, reservoirs, and hosts for minerals like gold. In conclusion, the presentation covered the origin, forms, deposits, and economic value of fluvial systems.
