Cash Flow Planning Bonus Project
Plan Ahead
We are told, in business, that we should be proactive; and broadly what is meant by that is to focus our efforts and attention on the long-term and to think in terms of the long-term consequences of our actions.
Proactive people simply will not accept that there is nothing that can be done about the unreasonable boss or the events of daily life - they will point out that there are always choices. It is by the decisions we make, our responses to people, events and circumstances that proactive people can and do affect the future. We may have no control over what life throws at us but we always have a choice about how we are to respond. —Stephen Covey's landmark book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People
The purpose of creating a Cash Flow Plan is to spend your paycheck on paper before you actually spend it during the month
Remember:
Money is active and always moving
Wealth is no longer measured in what you make a year
Wealth is measured in what you do with your money during a year
You will either be on your way to being wealthy, broke, or poor
Give your money a name
Rent/Mortgage, food, utilities, taxes, insurance, etc.
Money that is simply left unaccounted for will always find a way out of your personal financial plan
This Cash Flow Plan should be done every pay period!
Recommended Percentages used for Budgeting
The following are a compilation of several sources to derive the suggested percentage guidelines. However, these are only recommended percentages and will change dramatically if you have a very high or very low income.
For instance, if you have a very low income, your necessities percentages will be high. If you have a high income your necessities will be a lower percentage of income and hopefully savings (not debt) will be higher than recommended.

Every dollar of your income should be allocated to some category on this sheet. Money "left over" should be put back into a category even if you make up a new category. 1. Well, it is a
new year! With that
being said, a new year
for improvement.
Starting out 2013, the
campaign is Continu-
ous Improvement,
which leads to our
2013 Goals. We ended
the year of 2012 very
strong in the last
three months hitting
11 tiers out of 12—
GREAT WORK
TEAM!!! Smart
Home Services has
really started to lift,
and now, we have to
focus on this metric in
the way of percent-
age- to-goal, not just
overall sales. We need
to improve our Aver-
age Sale Price (ASP)
as well. You will see
this in the metrics
with the %-to-goal.
To improve this num-
ber, we now need to
sell other products,
such as HDMI, Opti-
cal, TV Mounts, etc.
This will not only im-
prove our %-to-goal
and ASP, but will line
YOUR pockets a little
more! Who doesn’t
want more cash?
Like stated
above, we had a great
end of the year last
year. Each and every
one of your efforts
helped improve our
company as a whole.
Thank you for your
hard work and Con-
tinuous Improvement
thus far. Below are
the metric goals for
this year.
2013 Goals
Completion: 92%
TC12: 3.00%
CSAT: 9.80
IP Connectivity: 36%
SHS: $175 per Tech

How’s your weight loss
resolution working out?
One of the key compo-
nents to losing weight is
counting calories. But,
what does that mean?
The daily recommended
calorie intake is 1200
calories. To achieve suc-
cessful weight loss, you
must burn more calories
in a day than what you
take in. For example, if
you are eating junk food,
fast food, dessert, and so-
das, your daily calorie
intake can very easily be
4,000 calories or more a
day! Reduce your calorie
load by making changes
in your diet. Instead of
chips or fries as a side,
eat fruit. This one
change a day can reduce
nearly 150 calories from
one meal. For more tips:

Fill out a 1040 tax form for these!
By now, everyone should have received their W-2s. (If you have not, please contact
our payroll Payroll Manager, Crystal at crystalfeliu@hpts.tv She will be able to
e-mail you a copy of yours.) Once you have gathered all of your tax information
and forms, you can elect to do your taxes yourself (TurboTax.com, TaxAct.com,
HRBlock.com, etc.) These sites usually offer FREE Federal Tax Filing, but charge
for State Tax Filing (average, about $30 to file). You can also take your tax infor-
mation to a place (such as HRBlock) to have them done in person. The more com-
plicated your taxes, you may want to consider having a professional do them. South-
ern Indiana offers a few options to have your taxes done for FREE: http://
myfreetaxes.com/siabc Or, visit the Southern Indiana Asset Building Coalition
(SIABC) at one of their Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) sites. In Ken-
tucky, visit the Louisville Asset Building Coalition. VITA has helped 62,000 fami-
lies and individuals with their taxes by offering free tax preparation!
Taxes can be very overwhelming! For official answers to a lot of tax questions,
visit www.irs.gov/taxtopics. TurboTax.com also explains new tax laws and what
you may or may not qualify for. To help with your taxes, we have done a little bit
of leg work for you!
Child Tax Credit: This has been extended by two
years thanks to the 2010 Tax Relief Act. It allows a
$1,000 credit per eligible child.
American Opportunity
Tax Credit: This is a tax
credit that helps students
pay for college. If you attended school in 2012, even for
a semester, make sure to get your 1098T tax form from
your school.
Attention Contractors, Subcontractors, and those
Self-Employed: Up to 100% of health insurance that is
paid is deductible. (Ask a tax professional how!)
Credit for Energy-Saving Home Improvements: 30%
tax credit here!! This credit was extended through 2016,
thanks to the 2010 Tax Relief Act. Credits can be earned
for any Energy-Saving improvements to your home from
something as small as a light bulb to something like add-
ing solar panels! Keep your receipts for Energy-Savers
such as faucets, toilets, new appliances, windows, etc. Go
green—save some green! Make sure to keep the receipts!
IRS Mileage Tax Deduction: Again, it is critical to save your receipts for this!
The IRS will reimburse 55.5 cents per mile for accurate records (receipts, to/from
logs, mileage, dates, etc.) for miles driven for business, medical travel mileage,
moving mileage, and/or servicing for charitable organizations.
Lease a car for work?: Any use for work (not
personal!) is deductible. Once again, it is crucial
to keep accurate records to prove this usage.
Also, car insurance premiums can be tax deducti-
ble for those that use their vehicle for work.
For more information on tax credits, contact a
Tax Professional. Use these tips for future tax
preparations, also!
