This document summarizes a pilot session on discussing social exclusion that was held in Gdynia, Poland on November 21, 2014. The session had two objectives: to test good practices and train adult trainers. Several participatory methods were used, including discussions and pair activities. However, the session did not go as planned due to an unexpected university evaluator who disrupted the flow with challenging questions. His presence highlighted how preexisting professional roles and power dynamics can negatively impact participatory activities aimed at open discussion. In the end, most participants found the experience valuable despite the unexpected challenges.
