Nowadays, tea is considered as the healthiest and the most popular drink in the world. Because of
lack of using pesticides in production of green leaf, Iran’s produced tea is considered as of the purest and
healthiest teas in the world [1].After passing about 110 years from starting tea cultivation in Iran and although
cultivation surface of tea farms has developed in this period and the number of tea making factories and the rate
of produced tea have increased, but unfortunately, In spite of the fact, that tea has a long history in Iran, the
knowledge of tea farmers in using the modern methods of cultivation; nursing and harvesting tea is low and
requires continuous scientific and quantitative training. About 70% of tea making factories are over 45 years
old and are wear out and lacks modern equipment. Old machinery and lack of production capacity of factories
lead to absence of proportion of capacity of machinery with the amount of delivery green leaf at the peak of
production of tea green leaf in April, May &June [2]. Special place of tea in Iranian consumers ‘basket and
direct occupation of more than 70,000 households in tea cultivation and production and its role and place in
economy of Guilan&MazandaranProvince have doubled the necessity of performing researches to find solutions
of tea problems and its qualitative and quantitative improvement. In this article, the Effect of the Applying
Modern and standard technology and industry on quality of produced tea is studied. The method of this
research is field study and survey has been applied for collection of information to respond to the research
questions. After analyzing obtained data from questionnaire, research hypothesis was confirmed in confidence
level of 95%. Therefore, it can be stated that in confidence level of 95%, Applying Modern and standard
technology and industry effects on the Quality of Iranian Produced dried tea.

The purpose of the study was to evaluate tertiary student’s sexual behaviour and their knowledge and attitudes
towards STDs, among students of University for Development Studies (UDS).
The research design: data was collected by using a quantitative survey using self-answered questionnaire, from
a sample of one hundred and thirty-four (n=134) out of a total student population of 3,881, using the simple
random sampling technique in the data gathering process.
Results/findings: out of the sample size of 134 students aged 15-44, 46.3% were males and 53.7% were females.
About 24.6%, (n=33) have ever had sex without a condom. The study revealed that 99.3% ever heard of STDs,
85.1% had either below or average knowledge about the causes of STDs, 55.2% had knowledge above average
on the prevention of STDs and more than 90% of the student sampled indicated that STDs are very common.
Interestingly, 6.7% of the sampled population said STDs are mainly female infections.
Recommendations: There is need for wider education at various levels of the educational system on STDs by
health care providers, and effective collaboration among health care providers, social activists, NGOs and
tertiary students to promote peer education on STDs prevention among students.

As documented by Ndamba, Lunga and Musarurwa, (2013) gender based violence (GBV) is one of
the key drivers of HIV, high mortality rate, crime and other non-conforming behaviours. The purpose of the
study was to investigate the psychosocial drivers of GBV in Matabeleland South. The study employed both
quantitative and qualitative methodologies. The quantitative aspects included questionnaires that were
administered to women of child bearing age, whilst the qualitative aspect involved secondary data review,
interviews of key informants and focus group discussions. The population of man, women, and youths was used
to make reasonable inferences on the issues fuelling GBV in Matabeleland South. Purposive and random
sampling techniques were used to identify the ideal participants for the survey. The key findings were that:
Cases of GBV were actually understated by documented statistics, so were their causes and outcomes. The term
Gender Based Violence was noted a value-laden word and as a result, different stakeholders had their
operational definitions, with some associating it with Feminism. Recommendations made include - development
of strategies that ensure maximum freedom and entitlements; policies that ensure attainment of human rights
including the basic living rights by communities; strategic and systematic rehabilitation of victims of abuse;
revival of recreational centres; and enforcement of some laws that involve human rights so as to ensure that the
communities (as bio-psychosocial beings) leave peacefully with each other.

Available forms of iron in soils can be assessed through the use of chemical extraction methods. Soil
test provide an indication of nutrient level in the soil and together with plant analysis are important agronomic
tools for determining crop nutrient needs, predicting the nutrient-deficient areas and preventing the deficiency.
This study was therefore conducted in laboratory and greenhouse environment to evaluate suitable extraction
method for predicting available forms of iron in soils of southeastern Nigeria, using five extraction procedures
(Coca-cola, 0.05M EDTA, 1N NH4OAC +0.05M EDTA, 1N NH4OAC and O.1N HCl). Iron uptake by maize (Zea
mays L.) plants was analyzed together with the Fe content in the soils in which maize plants were grown under
greenhouse conditions. Iron content in maize plants were determined by AAS. The results obtained in this study
shows that Coca-cola method extracted the highest amount of the Fe (12.77 mgkg-1
) while, 1N NH4OAC +0.05M
EDTA extracted the least amount of Fe (4.48 mgkg-1
) with an average of 7.33 mgkg-1
. Coca-cola-extractable Fe
correlated positively and significantly with Fe concentration (r = 0.650**) and Fe uptake (r = 0.712***) while,
O.1N HCl- and 0.05M EDTA-extractable Fe had significant positive correlations with dry matter yield and Fe
uptake. Their r values being, (0.630** and 0.676**) and (0.601** and 0.588*), respectively. Moreover, the
result obtained from the regression equations corresponded with the correlations values determined.
Accordingly, the study indicates that, the order of significance for the extracting solutions is as follows: Cocacola
> O.1N HCl > 0.05M EDTA > 1N NH4OAC > 0.05M EDTA+1N NH4OAc. Thus, the high correlations (r) values of extractable Fe with soil properties and yield parameters suggests the superiority of Coca-cola, O.1N
HCl and 0.05M EDTA extractants over others extractants but, the Coca-cola method was determined to be the most suitable extractant for predicting available Fe content for soils of southeastern Nigeria. However, in the
absent of Coca-cola extractant, HCl and EDTA methods can equally be used in the determination of available Fe in these soils.

This study measured the portal vein diameter in 108 healthy individuals in Northeast India using ultrasound. The mean portal vein diameter was 8.83±2.12 mm overall, 9.17±2.33 mm in males and 8.55±1.90 mm in females. Diameter increased with weight and BMI in all adults and females but did not correlate with any body parameters in males. Diameter also increased from ages 15-60 years but decreased after 60. The study provides reference values for portal vein diameter in this population that can help identify abnormal diameters indicating disease.

The African Philosophical Conflicts and Development
The differences in African philosophical thinking between the ethno-philosophical and professional
school of thought shows the involvement of philosophical conflicts in the African development process. The
philosophical debate does no more than revive the entrenched views of development theories, namely the
conflict between tradition and modernity. While ethno-philosophy thinks that the rehabilitation of African
traditions, drive to successful modernization, especially after the disparaging discourse of colonialism,
professional philosophy is of the opinion that success depends on the exchange of the traditional culture for
modern ideas and institutions. This paper evaluates the major arguments developed by the two conflicting
schools of thought in support of their position. The outcome is that both are right on their affirmations.
Accordingly, the paper suggests that the conception of development as validation is alone able to reconcile the
positive contribution of each school, since validation is how a traditional personality is judged according to

The study area lies within the Anambra Basin which geologically made up of Enugu Shale and
Mamu Formation. This study aimed at determining the geology and depositional environments of these
Formations through field relationship and grain size distribution as well as morphometric studies. The field
data shows Enugu Shale as fissile, light grey with extraformational clast which graded into Mamu Formation
which is made up of alternating sequence of shale, siltstone, mudstone, coal and sand, it shows a fluctuating
environment. The granulometric study of sand member of Mamu Formation shows characteristic very well
sorted, fine to medium grains which were deposited in relatively turbulent well aerated marine environment
probably above wave base. The bivariate and the multivariate results reveal Aeolian/shallow marine deposit.
The fissility of Enugu Shale suggests that it was deposited in low energy environment, distal to proximal lagoon
environment and the presence of extraformatonal clast indicates fluvial incursion. However, it can be concluded
that Mamu Formation was deposited in fluctuating environment ranging from an oxygenated shallow marine to
acidic swampy environment. Hence is paralic Formation.

The antibacterial activities of the methanolic, hot water, chloroform and petroleum ether extracts of
Choclospermum planchonii leaf were tested against some clinical bacterial isolates and reference organisms.
The phytochemical screenings of the extracts were also carried out. The leaf extracts of the plant exhibited
antibacterial activities against clinical isolates of Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus
aureus, Shigella flexneri, and Salmonella typhii and reference strains of Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC 28923),
Escherichia coli (ATCC 25922) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (ATCC 27853. The methanolic leaf extracts
exhibited the highest antibacterial activity, its minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) ranging between 0.31
and 1.25 mg/ml; and its zones of inhibition on the various test microorganisms ranging between 8mm and 13
mm. The petroleum ether extracts had the weakest antibacterial activity, its minimum inhibitory concentration
(MIC) ranging between 2.50mg/ml and 5.00mg/ml and its inhibition zone ranging between 4mm and 8mm. The
phytochemical constituents present in the plant were alkaloids, tannins, saponins, cardiac glycosides, and
sterols. The methanolic extracts of the leaf exhibited potentially biological activity than other extracts. This
indicates that the plant leaf could be useful in the treatment of human infections caused by these pathogens. The
antibacterial activities of the methanolic leaf extract may be attributed to the presence of bioactive compounds.

Therapeutic Interaction: A Perception of Therapist towards Patients with Anxi...
The present research was conducted (a) to describe the socio-demographic information of
psychotherapist providing therapy to patients of anxiety disorder (b) to examine the therapeutic interaction on
various variables of therapeutic participation, resistance and dysphoric concern (related to patient’s
responses), and directive support for the patients (variable related to his/herself). It was hypothesized that
therapist would rate significantly high on therapeutic interaction (therapeutic participation, directive support,
resistance and dysphoric concerns) with anxiety patient. Sample comprised of thirty five psychotherapist
providing therapy to diagnosed anxiety patients in OPD (Outdoor patient department). Psychotherapy Process
Inventory was administered to assess perception of therapeutic interaction of psychotherapist. Descriptive
statistics and one sample t test were calculated for the analysis of data. Results revealed that most of the
therapists, possessed MS degree in Clinical Psychology. Results indicate that there is a significant high rating
on therapeutic interaction, therapeutic participation, directive support, resistance and dysphoric concern of the
psychotherapist who are providing therapy to the anxiety patients. Therapeutic interaction is perceived by the
therapist as supportive, whereas participation, resistance and dysphoric concerns of the patients were also
perceived high by the therapist in initial sessions. Findings will be helpful for psychologist and other
professionals to plan the therapeutic interventions for anxiety patients

Available forms of iron in soils can be assessed through the use of chemical extraction methods. Soil
test provide an indication of nutrient level in the soil and together with plant analysis are important agronomic
tools for determining crop nutrient needs, predicting the nutrient-deficient areas and preventing the deficiency.
This study was therefore conducted in laboratory and greenhouse environment to evaluate suitable extraction
method for predicting available forms of iron in soils of southeastern Nigeria, using five extraction procedures
(Coca-cola, 0.05M EDTA, 1N NH4OAC +0.05M EDTA, 1N NH4OAC and O.1N HCl). Iron uptake by maize (Zea
mays L.) plants was analyzed together with the Fe content in the soils in which maize plants were grown under
greenhouse conditions. Iron content in maize plants were determined by AAS. The results obtained in this study
shows that Coca-cola method extracted the highest amount of the Fe (12.77 mgkg-1
) while, 1N NH4OAC +0.05M
EDTA extracted the least amount of Fe (4.48 mgkg-1
) with an average of 7.33 mgkg-1
. Coca-cola-extractable Fe
correlated positively and significantly with Fe concentration (r = 0.650**) and Fe uptake (r = 0.712***) while,
O.1N HCl- and 0.05M EDTA-extractable Fe had significant positive correlations with dry matter yield and Fe
uptake. Their r values being, (0.630** and 0.676**) and (0.601** and 0.588*), respectively. Moreover, the
result obtained from the regression equations corresponded with the correlations values determined.
Accordingly, the study indicates that, the order of significance for the extracting solutions is as follows: Cocacola
> O.1N HCl > 0.05M EDTA > 1N NH4OAC > 0.05M EDTA+1N NH4OAc. Thus, the high correlations (r) values of extractable Fe with soil properties and yield parameters suggests the superiority of Coca-cola, O.1N
HCl and 0.05M EDTA extractants over others extractants but, the Coca-cola method was determined to be the most suitable extractant for predicting available Fe content for soils of southeastern Nigeria. However, in the
absent of Coca-cola extractant, HCl and EDTA methods can equally be used in the determination of available Fe in these soils.
Utilization of Foundry Waste Sand as a Masonry Mortar

This study measured the portal vein diameter in 108 healthy individuals in Northeast India using ultrasound. The mean portal vein diameter was 8.83±2.12 mm overall, 9.17±2.33 mm in males and 8.55±1.90 mm in females. Diameter increased with weight and BMI in all adults and females but did not correlate with any body parameters in males. Diameter also increased from ages 15-60 years but decreased after 60. The study provides reference values for portal vein diameter in this population that can help identify abnormal diameters indicating disease.

The differences in African philosophical thinking between the ethno-philosophical and professional
school of thought shows the involvement of philosophical conflicts in the African development process. The
philosophical debate does no more than revive the entrenched views of development theories, namely the
conflict between tradition and modernity. While ethno-philosophy thinks that the rehabilitation of African
traditions, drive to successful modernization, especially after the disparaging discourse of colonialism,
professional philosophy is of the opinion that success depends on the exchange of the traditional culture for
modern ideas and institutions. This paper evaluates the major arguments developed by the two conflicting
schools of thought in support of their position. The outcome is that both are right on their affirmations.
Accordingly, the paper suggests that the conception of development as validation is alone able to reconcile the
positive contribution of each school, since validation is how a traditional personality is judged according to
modern norms, and thus achieves worldly success.

The study area lies within the Anambra Basin which geologically made up of Enugu Shale and
Mamu Formation. This study aimed at determining the geology and depositional environments of these
Formations through field relationship and grain size distribution as well as morphometric studies. The field
data shows Enugu Shale as fissile, light grey with extraformational clast which graded into Mamu Formation
which is made up of alternating sequence of shale, siltstone, mudstone, coal and sand, it shows a fluctuating
environment. The granulometric study of sand member of Mamu Formation shows characteristic very well
sorted, fine to medium grains which were deposited in relatively turbulent well aerated marine environment
probably above wave base. The bivariate and the multivariate results reveal Aeolian/shallow marine deposit.
The fissility of Enugu Shale suggests that it was deposited in low energy environment, distal to proximal lagoon
environment and the presence of extraformatonal clast indicates fluvial incursion. However, it can be concluded
that Mamu Formation was deposited in fluctuating environment ranging from an oxygenated shallow marine to
acidic swampy environment. Hence is paralic Formation.

The antibacterial activities of the methanolic, hot water, chloroform and petroleum ether extracts of
Choclospermum planchonii leaf were tested against some clinical bacterial isolates and reference organisms.
The phytochemical screenings of the extracts were also carried out. The leaf extracts of the plant exhibited
antibacterial activities against clinical isolates of Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus
aureus, Shigella flexneri, and Salmonella typhii and reference strains of Staphylococcus aureus (ATCC 28923),
Escherichia coli (ATCC 25922) and Pseudomonas aeruginosa (ATCC 27853. The methanolic leaf extracts
exhibited the highest antibacterial activity, its minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) ranging between 0.31
and 1.25 mg/ml; and its zones of inhibition on the various test microorganisms ranging between 8mm and 13
mm. The petroleum ether extracts had the weakest antibacterial activity, its minimum inhibitory concentration
(MIC) ranging between 2.50mg/ml and 5.00mg/ml and its inhibition zone ranging between 4mm and 8mm. The
phytochemical constituents present in the plant were alkaloids, tannins, saponins, cardiac glycosides, and
sterols. The methanolic extracts of the leaf exhibited potentially biological activity than other extracts. This
indicates that the plant leaf could be useful in the treatment of human infections caused by these pathogens. The
antibacterial activities of the methanolic leaf extract may be attributed to the presence of bioactive compounds.

The present research was conducted (a) to describe the socio-demographic information of
psychotherapist providing therapy to patients of anxiety disorder (b) to examine the therapeutic interaction on
various variables of therapeutic participation, resistance and dysphoric concern (related to patient’s
responses), and directive support for the patients (variable related to his/herself). It was hypothesized that
therapist would rate significantly high on therapeutic interaction (therapeutic participation, directive support,
resistance and dysphoric concerns) with anxiety patient. Sample comprised of thirty five psychotherapist
providing therapy to diagnosed anxiety patients in OPD (Outdoor patient department). Psychotherapy Process
Inventory was administered to assess perception of therapeutic interaction of psychotherapist. Descriptive
statistics and one sample t test were calculated for the analysis of data. Results revealed that most of the
therapists, possessed MS degree in Clinical Psychology. Results indicate that there is a significant high rating
on therapeutic interaction, therapeutic participation, directive support, resistance and dysphoric concern of the
psychotherapist who are providing therapy to the anxiety patients. Therapeutic interaction is perceived by the
therapist as supportive, whereas participation, resistance and dysphoric concerns of the patients were also
perceived high by the therapist in initial sessions. Findings will be helpful for psychologist and other
professionals to plan the therapeutic interventions for anxiety patients
