Dr. John Pemberton created Coca-Cola in 1886 when he mixed a flavored syrup with carbonated water at his neighborhood pharmacy in Atlanta. His partner Frank M. Robinson named the beverage "Coca-Cola" and designed the distinctive script logo that is still used today. Coca-Cola began as a curiosity of Dr. Pemberton's that was sampled and deemed "excellent" by early tasters.
