5. FAMILIES ARE WELL WHEN……..
• Where love is experienced
• Where family members feel connected and belong
• When there are boundaries that establish safety and security
• When there is routine, rituals, and predictability
• When there is safe communication
• When kids understand what is expected of them
• When there is respect for authority, not fear of authority
• When voices are heard
• When parents are present
• When basic needs are met (food, clothing, shelter, connection, belonging)

6. FAMILIES ARE NOT WELL
WHEN………..
• Trust is broken and family members feel unsafe
• When family members don’t feel connected or they belong
• Routines, Rituals, and Predictability are not present
• Parents are not present physically or emotionally
• Kids don’t understand what is expected of them
• Basic needs are not met (food, clothing, shelter, safety, security,
connection)
• Kids do not respect authority
• When parents model ”do what I say not what I do"

7. HOW DO WE GAIN WELLNESS?
• Create a culture of unconditional love and forgiveness in the home
• Re establish boundaries and safety= love and security
• Establish rules for Healthy communication
• Maintain routines, rituals, and predictability
• Parents be physically and emotionally present
• Parents establish and maintain authority without fostering fear
• Parents have a healthy support system (grandparents, neighbors,
community)
• Empower your children to be their best rather than expect them to be
perfect

and atmosphere you desire to have for your
family, no matter what circumstance you are
