2. MIGRATION
My parent’s are originally from Mexico.
My mother comes from Nayarit, Mexico.
My father comes from Mexico City.
My parents migrated from Mexico to the U.S
when they were both 18 years old.
3. CLIMATE
The climate in Nayarit, Mexico is very hot all year around. In the
summer though it becomes very humid.
The climate in Mexico, City is a bit nicer. It does rain a lot but the
hottest time would be around May.
The climate in Mexico makes it easier to plant fruits and
vegetables.
4. CULTURE
The culture my family still
carries on is celebrating the
independence of Mexico which
is September 16
Another thing my mom still
holds as a tradition is giving
each of my sisters a
quinceanera.
5. ASSIMILATION
My parents had to assimilate to the traditions in the U.S.
The traditions they took from the U.S. is 4th of July
Laws
My mother also changed her religion when she arrived to the U.S.
6. LANGUAGE
Since my parents were both born in the U.S. their language is
Spanish.
My father and mother then realized they had to learn English to
really find a better job.
My father learned English very fast and was able to get a really
good management position at a warehouse.
