South Hill Park Arts Centre is hosting several family entertainment events in May, including outdoor performances of Beatrix Potter stories, a world premiere musical incorporating magic, and dance and theater productions. Events include My Friend Peter - The Beatrix Potter Musical on May 1st, Stig of the Dump from May 18th-21st, the dance piece Vuelos on May 24th, and the world premiere of the musical Don't Dribble on the Dragon on May 28th. South Hill Park encourages families to enjoy their events and grounds for full days of fun.

1. Family Entertainment this May at South Hill Park
South Hill Park Arts Centre is so full to the brim this May with family entertainment, you’ll struggle
not to find something you’ll want to take your brood along to. From picnics in the park with
Beatrix Potter to a world premiere of a mesmerising new musical - Don’t Dribble on the Dragon,
that incorporates magic designed by the late great, Paul Daniels.
The month’s events kick off on May Day – Sunday 1 May, with HookHitch Theatre’s delightful
outdoor performance of My Friend Peter – The Beatrix Potter Musical. Taking place in South Hill
Park’s amphitheatre, this magical folk musical is for all those who seek big adventures in little
places. Why not make the most of your time in the park’s beautiful grounds and pre-order a
picnic with your ticket, to guarantee a full day of fun without the fuss?!
Another children’s classic is brought to life on the Wilde Theatre stage by London Contemporary
Theatre from Wednesday 18 to Saturday 21 May, with Clive King’s much loved Stig of the Dump.
It is nearly 50 years since Stig and Barney’s adventures first saw the light of day, but this
timeless children’s story remains as charming and entertaining as ever.

2. If you’re looking to try something a little different, Vuelos (Flights) on Tuesday 24 May could be
right up your street! This visually stunning and abundantly playful dance piece by Aracladanza in
association with MOKO Dance, delves into the imagination of the visionary genius of Leonardo
da Vinci, and guarantees to have your little ones entranced and captivated throughout.
The month’s events culminate spectacularly on Saturday 28 May with The People’s Theatre
Company’s world premiere of Don’t Dribble on the Dragon. This joyful new musical from the
creators of hit shows Santa in Love and How the Koala Learnt to Hug is based on the fabulous
new book by Steven Lee, and includes magic designed by the late legendary Paul Daniels. A
heart-warming story full of love, laughs and sing along songs that makes for a perfect Saturday
treat for children and adults alike.
