Why does a gladius look like
that?
A conspiracy theorists opinion.
Yes I think that swords are military intelligence, even back then.
A gladius held by a hero
• The sword would be very heavy.
• The sword would be very strong.
• If the hero needs to use it, it works.
Modern historians have a bias
• We are so bent on what is found in storage, but only items that are
widely reproduced would be likely to be found.
• In reality, the cost of making a very very good weapon is probably
very high, meaning most of the swords that were made were not very
good.
• There is no such thing as a good sword with a tang.
Why are blades round?? Two things:
• First of all,, a sword is round because that is sharper.
• But second of all, if you hammer out a blade, as the metal thins, it
spreads, meaning that when you hammer out a blade, it naturally
curves.
• There is something else:
You start with an ingot, not a bar
Using technique, the blade ends up with
more carbon than the hilt
• The sword is one piece of metal
• The work alone results in a harder, higher carbon edge, , especially towards
the tip.
• The thick portion of the blade, and hilt, are softer for durability.
• The sword is easy to keep in hand no matter the situation.
• The sword is virtually indestructible. Small damage at the tip does not
reduce most of the utility of the weapon.
• The sword is heavy enough for the weight to overcome the lack of a perfect
edge.
• Only hammers are used to sharpen the sword, only fools with fake
weapons grind the hardened metal from their sword.

Fake swords everywhere
