This document discusses the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) in English lessons as part of the e-Teaching and Learning Special Interest Group (e-TL SIG). The e-TL SIG helps teachers grow by sharing experiences using tools like Edmodo, Moodle, blogs, and netbooks. Meetings are held monthly for members to suggest topics and presenters. The role of coordinators is organizational while members play an active role. Non-members can join meetings for a small fee.

2. We are e-TL SIG members since we consider that the use of

technology while learning or teaching is crucial in order to
communicate with each other. We cannot deny that we are
immersed in a digital era and nowadays we, as students or
teachers, need to get acquainted with new technologies. New
technologies help us to build knowledge collaboratively.

3. As coordinators of this SIG our role is merely organizational. Every
.
member of the SIG has an active role so that meetings can be carried
out once a month. Topics about the members’ interests and
presenters are suggested or chosen during the meetings.
Within the e-TL SIG we share our experiences on the uses of ICT and
Education. This SIG has helped us grow as teachers by building the
necessary knowledge to accomplish teaching and learning of the 21 st
century through the use of different tools:
