A recently finished project in a large
London house has come into its own

                                                                               'Exploring Concrete'
once a damp, tired and somewhat

neglected piece of land is now a
stunning lawned garden and
                                                                               14 September - 16 October
terrace with barbeque area. The
                                                                               Integrated Habitats Design
EA team have cleverly created a
                                                                               Competition Exhibition
harmonious link between the
                                                                               www.ihdc.org.uk
outside and inside by using
design details complementary to
                                                                               15 September
those used in the interior of the                                              'Lighting - Let there be LED' seminar
house, such as similar joinery,
                                                                               www.buildingcentre.co.uk
cabinetry, materials and choice
of colours. Subtle touches such
                                                                               15 & 16 September
as the lighting under the steps
                                                                               Green Roofs For a Changing Climate
allows the garden to be gently
                                                                               www.worldgreenroofcongress.com
illuminated at night, enabling the
owners to enjoy the outside space

at all times of day and evening.

Work has begun on the revetment
and restoration of 1km of river                                                20 September

the water quality before it is
dispensed back into the river.
Stage 1 river works will be nearing
completion in November.
