This document provides an overview of the innervation and irrigation of the upper extremity. It discusses the brachial plexus, which is formed from cervical spinal nerve roots C5-T1. The document describes the trunks, fascicles and collateral branches of the brachial plexus. It notes the nerves that arise from each fascicle and some of their functions. 2. Plexo braquial
En su porción supraclavicular ,esta localizado en la región cervical lateral,en su
porción infraclavicular,esta por debajo de la clavícula y detrás de los vasos
subclavios,en la fosa axilar da sus ramos terminales.
Se encuentra formado por:C5,C6,C7,C8 y el primer nervio torácico T1
“Estos ramos constituyen las raíces del plexo braquial”

4. Troncos del plexo braquial
Tronco superior:
Constituido por el ramo anterior de C5 que se une al ramo anterior de C6 para
formarlo.
Tronco medio:
Lo conforma por si solo el ramo anterior C7.
Tronco inferior:
Formado por el ramo anterior C8 uniéndose al ramo T1.

5. Fascículos del plexo braquial
-Fascículo posterior:formado por los tres troncos del plexo braquial y cada una de sus
divisiones ,dándole origen a los nervios radial y axilar.
-Fascículo lateral:formado por los ramos anteriores del tronco superior y medio.De este
fascículo es de donde surge el nervio musculocutáneo y la raíz lateral del nervio mediano.
-Fascículo medial:formado por el ramo anterior del tronco inferior.De este nace la raíz
medial del nervio mediano,el nervio cubital y el nervio cutáneo antebraquial medial.

6. Ramos colaterales el plexo braquial
Nervio subclavio:Nace de las raíces del nervio cervical C5 y C6,situado por
delante del plexo y de la arteria axilar,diviendose un ramo para músculo
subclavio que pierde en la parte media del músculo y un ramo comunicante en
la parte medial para el nervio frénico.
Nervio pectoral lateral :originado en la parte inferior del tronco superior.Pasa
por arriba y por delante de la arteria axilar,atraviesa la fascía clavipctoral.

Se le considera como un ramo terminal del plexo braquial,a causa de su destino

partes del nervio cutáneo lateral superior del brazo,ramo del nervio axilar.
