5. METHOD
1. Cut out two strips of paper. One
strip should be 10 cm by 2 cm
and the other should be 20 cm by
2 cm.
2. Attach the strips of paper to a
straw as shown in the photo.
3. Throw the straw forwards and
observe how far it flies. This is
the basic flying straw and the
control.
4. Make a list of at least THREE
variables that affect how far the
flying straw travels.
5. Create flying straws that test each
of those variables and record how
far they travel. REMEMBER TO
KEEP YOUR TESTING OF
EACH VARIABLE FAIR!
