This document provides a case study and discussion questions about the ethical responsibilities of pharmaceutical companies. Students are asked to read a case study about drug dilemmas facing pharmaceutical companies and reflect on questions regarding their ethical obligations. Specifically, whether pharmaceutical companies have greater ethical obligations than other corporations due to the nature of their products, if large U.S. drug companies are good corporate citizens, and if they have a moral obligation to provide life-saving drugs in poor countries at low or no cost. Students are also asked to apply a theory from the provided text to analyze the complex issues and respond to peers' evaluations of the case while keeping an open mind.
