The document provides examples of utopian societies that have been attempted throughout history, including Brook Farm, Kibbutz, and Walden Two. It argues that Walden Two was the most complete of these examples because it had an organized work system with fair treatment of all members and a planned system for members' entire lifetimes. The other societies, Brook Farm and Kibbutz, lacked such organization and planning, which contributed to their failures.

A Strategic Approach: GenAI in EducationPeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

How Race, Age and Gender Shape Attitudes Towards Mental HealthThinkNow
Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

Examples Of Utopian Society
1. Examples Of Utopian Society
An utopian society can be defined as a most ideal place where everyone desire. Utopia is an imaginary place for some characteristics that actually
cannot be achieved for. But still many people had tried to create a utopia for their earnest will to live in a best society. Now day people's situation,
which can be said as abject and hopeless, had made them to dream of a wonderland that cannot exist. Brook Farm, Kibbutz, and Walden Two are some
examples for the created utopian society. They all have some incompleteness, because there would be many irony factors to create a real utopia, but they
can be said as some relatively complete utopian societies. The best over these three examples will probably be the Walden Two society, because it has

First, Walden Two had a great arrangement in work system. They had a work credit system, which had made all members to work fairly and receive
same treatment. There were no complain over people. After they done their assigned work and fulfilled the credit, they could have their free time,
which allow them to develop their genius in many parts. Also there were planned system for a whole lifetime for the members, which had eventually
planned an organized society. However, the other two societies did not had this organized system. Brook Farm's founder had first founded Brook
Farm based on Transcendentalism, but then he suddenly changed to Fourierism. This sudden change had confused the members and the change was
not able to cover the society's biggest problem of lack of income. The lack of income over the society can truly prove that the system there was not
complete and it was not well planned. Also in Kibbutz, the leadership of government had suppressed the innovation. This community did not have the
ability to elevate the standard of living. They were not able to adapt to the change and improve the educational system. The Kibbutz is a so–called
"has–been" society. The failure of other two societies and the organized system of Walden Two has made it the best

2. Utopi A Utopian Society Essay
When people hear the word "Utopia" they often think of a peaceful place without any worries. Throughout the years, utopia has been defined as "an
imagined place or state of things in which everything is perfect". Many times society is often referred to as an "utopian society" of which many hope
for as a sense of perfection within. However, it is often far from that state of perfection despite how hard it tries to be. The connotation of this word has
also been referenced through the American land, mostly in accordance to the suburban districts of America. The suburbs became the onset to many of
what modern society was within America. It was through the establishment of the suburbs that this connotation of a "utopian society" was formed. The
suburbs became an important way of the American livelihood and without the establishment of the suburbs, none of the industries, the community, or
the utopian society would be as it is today. One of the most important aspects of the suburbs was the amount of industrial growth established within the
society. Some of the industries that saw an substantial amount of growth were industries such as: the automobile, factories, and stores. These industries
allowed for substantial growth in society. The "...automobiles encouraged commuting, commuting excited city growth outward: not the ordered growth
previously restricted to railroad and streetcar lines, but an explosive mutation that produced a new, amorphous, sprawling suburbia oriented to

3. Essay about Utopia
Utopia
Sir Thomas More writes, in his book Utopia, about a society that is perfect in practically ever sense. The people all work an equal amount and
everything they need for survival is provided. Most importantly is that everyone living in this perfect society is happy and content with their
everyday lives. In this society everybody supports everyone. The community is only as strong as its weakest link. For society to progress everyone
must work together. Opponents of the Utopian system, however, feel that the strong should not have to look after the weak. Progress would be
maximized if all the resources are spent on the people most qualified to help society. A Utopian society, as perfect as the one

The more helpful one is to society the more resources that person deserves. Free time is not very common, for people are constantly working to better
their life and make themselves more important to society.
In Utopia, people have an ample amount of free time. During "all the void time, that is between the hours of work, sleep, meat that they be suffered
to bestow, every man as he liketh best himself" (More 137). People can focus on the activities which bring them pleasure because they are not trying
to elevate themselves in society by working extra hard. People do not pick activities so that they can become the best at whatever hobby they choose.
People choose a hobby based upon what brings them the most pleasure. Nearly everyone in the community reads and studies because they all take
pleasure out of learning and improving their minds. An equal amount of time is spent in physical activities so that the body as well as the mind can
experience pleasure. The Utopians strive to better themselves equally in the mind, body, and spirit.
People of today love to compete. The best athletes and smartest intellects love to show everyone that they are superior to everyone else in their field.
On the average people only focus on either becoming either a better athlete or a better scholar. Very rarely does one see a well rounded person. People
tend to concentrate on improving

4. A Utopian Society
A utopian society is amongst many things that we as humans strive towards. In an ideal world, a society where everyone is treated equally and sin
does not exist, is the definition of a perfect society. However, what many people neglect to understand is that they are striving to reach a goal that is
nearly impossible to accomplish. A utopian society is nearly impossible to have because of power imbalances, different values, and the existence of
sin. All of which are a part of human nature, and controlling the actions and feelings of humans cannot easily be done, especially without the use of
extensive technological devices.
The power imbalances in The Scarlet Letter exhibit examples of unequally. Inequality, as many of us realize, is not a characteristic of a Utopian
society. Throughout the novel, we observe many people with titles such as Governor Bellingham and Minister Reverend Dimmesdale. Titles, such as
these, communicate to the audience their authoritative role in story. It also allows the readers to become informed about the power imbalances that
often occur within any society. Governor Bellingham and Reverend Dimmesdale possess certain rights and powers that the puritan community does
not have. For example, the governor had the authority to put Hester Prynne in prison after she committed adultery. Although, we do not know for
certain which person gave orders to place Hester Prynne in prison, it is appropriate to assume that it was someone with a lot of power and

We all have dreamed of a perfect world and we all have our own ideas about how to achieve it. Unfortunately, it's just not possible in the world we live
in. But if a utopia could be attained, there are elements that could represent a utopia.
RELIGIOUS BELIEFS
Everyone's center for everything they do would be God. God is already the definition of perfection so everyone modeling their lives after Him would
make sense. The Bible describes God as compassionate, merciful, slow to anger, love, etc. Before sin, Adam and Eve lived in the Garden of Eden
which could be considered a utopia today. They spent time with God every day and lived their lives based off of God. Because God was the center,

Utopian Societies Do you know what's a utopian Society? A great example of an utopian society is 2BR02B by Kurt Vonnegut Jr. On the other
hand some people's opinion differs ,they believe The Giver represents a better utopian community. "2BR02B" represents a better quixotic society
than The Giver. The best example of an utopian society is "2BR02B." In the story it states,"All diseases were conquered . so was old age"
(Vonnegut pg: 1). As the quote suggest that in the story all of old age was gone no one grew old and there was no illness at all this shows the society
is perfect because all of the harm was gone because one thing is guaranteed death, but not in this society. According to Leora Duncan "'That sure is a

In the Giver it states , " It was considered rude to call attention to things that were unsettling or different individuals. (Lowry pg. 26). In other words
everyone is getting along because there is no conflict with anyone because the judgement is not present. However, even though they have a perfect
trait for being kind and not causing conflict, this doesn't mean they are perfect, their population has no control and they usually end up breaking
the rules. In the text Asher and the narrator states , "'I apologize to my classmates'" and "Everyone obeys" (Lowry pg. 5 & Back) . This further
explains that there is no conflict in The Giver and everyone has to apologize in order to keep it that way. Everyone is to obey the rules no matter
what. These statements may be true but, when it says " everyone obeys" that is not true because if so they wouldn't have been released because
what's the reason to be released if you so call follow the rules. Thus, proving that "2BR02B" better represents. "2BR02B" better emblematize a Utopian
civilization than The Giver. An amazing example of a utopian community is "2BR02B". Whereas some people believe The Giver better represents.
These stories affect people in believing these societies shouldn't exist because of their perfectness going wrong and their harsh and not humane

Utopian Societies in Literature
A Utopian Society is based on the idea that all governmental tactics, laws, and social conditions are ideal to perfection. The relationship between
authority and citizen coincide creating endless stability. Any abrupt disagreement regarding a radical idea can shift the equilibrium off balance, causing
the population to become a threat to officials that could lead to a revolutionary plan. In the novels A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess and 1984
by George Orwell, both authors discuss the power and ability the governments hold to preserve order over their citizens. In both situations, the
authorities go to great lengths in hope to reach Utopianism by the process of spying, monitoring, and...show more content...
Underneath the simplicity of the name "Alex" lies other suggested meanings. When split apart the letter "a" acts as a negative prefix, and the word
"lex" means an absence of law and a lack of words. It is evident that Alex clearly expresses both ideas. He lives his life on the basis of no rules, with a
careless destructive attitude towards others. The "lack of words" concept relates to his lack of; ". . . attempt to explain or justify his actions in
terms of abstract ideas or goals such as 'liberty' or 'stability'. . . . Instead, he simply experiences life directly, sensuously, and, while he is free,
joyously."(Bloom, p 118) Orwell's motive to write 1984 relates to England during the 1930's. "The novel converts the social injustice, sexual
repression and xenophobia . . . into the rigid class system, sexual puritanism, and permanent state of war in Oceania [the city in which 1984 takes
place in]."(Lee, p 136) 1984's atmosphere was inspired by Orwell's life. He said; "It wouldn't have been so gloomy . .

The Utopian land is divided into two main terrains: farmland and cities. The farmlands, of course, are where most of the country's resources are
produced. The services of the economy, smithing, carpentry, clothmaking, etc., are mainly produced in the cities. Iron is the only resource which must
be imported abundantly. All of the resources, except iron, that the nation requires, it produces on its own.
The Utopians live a very simple lifestyle. They work, and in their spare time play games, read, and socialize. Other forms of entertainment, such as
gambling and hunting are looked down upon. They only eat what is necessary, and their houses are built simply and furnished only with what is
necessary. Thus, their consumption is very low....show more content...
Theses are exported for the iron that they need, and gold and silver after that.
However, gold and silver play a very different role in Utopia. There is no monetary system; all of the people are provided with what they need.
Instead of working to get money with which they can choose what they want, their work is repaid with everything they need. What each person needs
is decided by them alone, and there is no risk of anyone taking more than they need. Why would anyone take more than they need when they will
always be provided for? There is no reason to store up for the future, and there is nothing to do with extra, unnecessary products.
The gold and silver then is used for purchasing mercenaries for use in war and for paying citizens of other nations to turn against their country in
war. Since gold is of no use to the people of Utopia, it is stored as chamber pots, and cheap jewelry worn only by the bondman, the lowest of
Utopian people. When a time comes that requires the use of gold, the Utopians gladly give it up, for to them it is just a toilet. The Utopian
government also uses its gold to lend to other nations in need. They are very liberal with their loans, and do not always ask for them to be repaid.
Their reasoning is that they have no use for the gold, for they have a surplus of that as well, and the other nation that is in debt has very good use for it.
This economy seems very

A Utopian Society
What is a Utopia, is it a perfect system of economics? Or is it a World without any conflict, or wars? To some people it may even be by their definition
a society without poverty, to which each and, every individual is treated with equal opportunity. In my honest opinion, the vision of aUtopia is a world
of superior technological advancements, a reduced authority of government over people, and a society of a strong sense of equal opportunity.
A world with grand scientific and technological advancement, is my main thought of a Utopian society, such advancement would include: medicine,
