• This is a symbolic OTS because it is hinting the
storyline and it shows mass murder, it shows mass
murder by the huge amount of weapons and blood
in this OTS, it may also hint death, pain and torture.

• By this OTS you can clearly see that the sub
genre is slasher so this means it has
established the theme and setting.

• In this OTS it does not tell me who it involves
or where it is but it tells me what is happening
because it is hinting what will happen
throughout the movie.
• Also it does give me the slightest hint of
what's happening so this might be to attract
the viewer.

The OTS has elements where it challenges the
slasher horror conventions but also has
elements where it does not challenge
conventions.

However the OTS challenges the sub genre
(slasher) by the contrapuntal sound through
out the OTS because opera music is not
commonly found within these genres because
it does not fit the image of death and gore.

The OTS does not challenge the sub-genre
(Slasher) due to it has key conventions which
are commonly seen within the slasher horrors.
The conventions of the slasher horror which are
seen in the OTS are:
• Blood
• Weapons (different methods to kill)
• Body parts

8. Characters Represented
• In the OTS there are no characters
represented and this is leaving the viewer the
mystery of who the character is and what is
going on.

• The main title of the OTS is right at the start,
the title has the biggest font out of the credits
due to they want it to stand out.
• The credits are the same colour as the blood
so it fits in within the image. The actor and
directors names are all in medium size font
and they are big enough to stand out.
