EVIDENCE OF TEACHING EXCELLENCE - QUALITATIVE
“This was a helpful, hands-on course that really helped me with some practical skills for any field that I may
enter upon graduation.” (COM 342 – Editing & Layout)
“I appreciated the instructors [sic] helpfulness. She was always available and welcoming to students who had
questions.” (COM 342 – Editing & Layout)
“Really pushes students to work to the best of their ability and work ethically. Very helpful when you need
help.” (COM 342 – Editing & Layout)
“I appreciated the variety in the curriculum in this class as a whole but also in the day to day schedule. Not
doing the same thing every class made it more engaging and helped me get more out of it.”
(COM 342 – Editing & Layout)
“I enjoyed Writing for Digital Media. I liked the variety in the curriculum and the different topics and ways that
we covered the material throughout the semester. I enjoyed having everyone teach a chapter I think that was a
new and different way to learn the material. I definitely have a different attitude towards blogging because of
this class. It's something I may even continue after the semester. I did not love the Army of Davids book itself,
but liked the concept of it as a class assignment and discussion topic.” (COM 315 – Writing for Digital Media)
“She was a very good professor, who expected a lot out of the students. That is both good and difficult.”
(COM 101 – Media & Society)
“Professor Crocker, it has been a spectacular semester to have you as a teacher. I really enjoy your thought
provoking questions and the discussions we talk about in class.” (COM 101 – Media & Society)
“Professor Crocker, it has been an absolute blast to have you as a teacher.” (COM 101 – Media & Society)
“I thoroughly enjoyed this course and class. It was very interactive which was very conducive to learning the
material.” (COM 101 – Media & Society)
“Mrs. Crocker is an amazing instructor. I always enjoy having her as my instructor and make an effort to enroll
in the courses in which she is the instructor. She is extremely helpful and motivating and makes an effort to
communicate with her students outside of class in a timely manner. She does a very good job in explaining the
course content and making sure that her students not only understand the material, but can apply what they
learn.” (COM 201 – Interpersonal)
“Professor Crockers [sic] test are challenging, and her class is always interesting. She does a great job tying in
outside resources in order for us to relate everything to real life. I wish she taught MORE Com classes, just so I
could have her again next semester.” (COM 201 - Interpersonal)
“Even though it was a little annoying, I really like having to post things on the Facebook page. I feel like I
learned the content better by discussing it with the class.” (COM 201 - Interpersonal)
“Professor Crocker shows that she cares about her students' success and progress in many ways. She uses
current media techniques such as Facebook and info graphics to make course work relevant. She also is quick in
responding to emails, allows students to borrow additional books which relate to coursework or project
research, and encourages students to be aware of currents events and how it relates to our class.”
(COM 201 - Interpersonal)
“I absolutely loved this class. I learned so much that will help me be successful in many areas of my life. I
learned more useful information in this class than many of my other classes required for my major. I think this
class was so helpful that it should become a general education class for all Anderson Students. Everyone could
learn a lot from taking this class. This was by far my favorite class this semester, and I'm not even a
communications major! Miss Crocker was a wonderful teacher. Her lectures and class activities were fun and
engaging. She was challenging and maintained high expectations, but she was very fair. Loved this class and
Miss Crocker as a teacher. Two thumbs up! :)” (COM 201 – Interpersonal)
“Professor Crocker is an excellent instructor. She is challenging and helpful when you need her help. Her class
is very enjoyable because of the facilitated discussion.” (COM 201 - Interpersonal)
“This was definitely my favorite class this semester. I loved how Ms. Crocker explained everything we needed
to know and then facilitated discussion on those topics. She assigned projects that were both challenging and
fun, and that truly made an impact on my learning journey. Ultimately, I feel that I understand interpersonal
communication better than I did before taking this course, and that I will be a more competent communicator in
the days to come.” (COM 201 - Interpersonal)
“This was one of my favorite classes in regards to the subject. Taking this class has taught me to be a better
communicator and leader, which I am extremely thankful for. I have found myself noticing our course material
in my every day life and I am overall extremely glad I was provided the opportunity to take this course. Ms.
Crocker did a great job teaching it. I enjoyed the subject matter of this course. The discussions and input of
others kept the class interesting and more enjoyable than just sitting silent the whole time. The relaxed
environment of this class made it easy to open up.” (COM 201 - Interpersonal)
