During the construction of a music video project, the student used various digital tools for research, planning, and production. PowerPoint and YouTube were utilized to analyze existing music videos in the genre. Cameras and equipment from the school were employed to film the video, having gained experience using this gear in prior projects.

6. During my research I used YouTube quite
frequently. This was to watch existing music
videos by Taylor Swift, or songs from a similar
genre. This was helpful as it helped me analyse
an effective music video, and helped me
understand typical codes and conventions
used in this particular genre.
We also watched existing music videos made
by previous A2 students this was helpful as it
helped me compare to these products using
my own ideas and was a more realistic way to
compare to previous students rather than real
artists as we have similar opportunities.

8. Cameras and equipment ...
For the filming we used a school
camera and tri-pod. I found them very
easy to use as we had already had
chance to use the cameras and get used
to them during last years project. It
was also refreshing on the preliminary
task we did earlier this year.

10. For the ancillary task, we researched in to different album
covers from either Taylor Swift, or artists from the same genre
to get an idea of what the audience of this particular target
group are expecting.
We decided that we wanted a particular font type for the front
cover therefore spent time on different websites and decided on
using a font from a website called ‘Dafont’
