- 3. My front cover includes a masthead, sub headings, a cover line, a price, a background image and a barcode. These are all bright and colourful so that it is eye catching on a shelf, but its not so colourful its overwhelming.
- 4. A typical contents page has a simplistic design, which is easy to read so that you can find the page that you want quickly. It also should have an image on the page to make it stand out and look more appealing.
- 6. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why? Most music megastores such as HMV, Zavvi and Powerplay would sell my music magazine. As there are not many Drum and Bass magazines around, and the Drum and Bass society has grown allot over the past few years. Britain is the founder of Drum and Bass, so in Britain alone there is a highly rising popularity for drum and bass, this means that there would be a big market for Drum and Bass magazines.
- 7. Who would be the audience for your media product? My product is aimed at 16-25 year old people this is as that younger audience are very interested in drum and bass. Drum and bass has become a big attraction recently as more festivals and clubs are playing this type of music. I have aimed this magazine at both men and women. This is as both men and women like to have fun at raves and festivals and hear all about what is going to be the festival of the year and what their favourite artist is doing.
- 8. How did you attract/address your audience? When I made my magazine I tried to make it stand out and look incredible so that it was very eye catching to younger audience. I think that the colour scheme that I used which was green, red and yellow for the text was good. This is as it makes the text more interesting and eye catching on the page. I think that my magazine tells the audience that they want to read about all their favourite artists, as it has good language in the magazine, for example on the contents page. Someone would want to buy my magazine as there aren't many drum and bass magazines around as it is a new trend, and it tells them about all their favourite drum and bass artists. They would want to know about the amazing festivals and raves coming on in the near future.
- 9. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing of this product I have used programs and technology such as publisher, GIMP, digital camera, phone, paint and coral pro. I have learnt allot about these programs for example with coral pro I didn't know that you could put layers under photographs to create a different background.
- 10. Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learnt in the progression from it to the full product? I feel that I have improved my layouts of my magazine allot better than i did with the student magazine. I believe this is as I looked at allot more music magazines and created a design to suite my magazine. I also worked out a proper colour scheme to my magazine as in my preliminary task I didn't have a colour scheme. I have learnt that by taking more time in looking at the other magazines I made mine look better as I took ideas from other sources and made my product look more professional. As I really like drum and bass myself i felt that i could make a magazine that I would buy myself. With the preliminary task i wasn’t as interested in the topic, but I tried to create an amazing looking magazine which is very eye catching to the target audience.
