This document summarizes what the author learned from their preliminary media project task to the full completed product. They learned improved time management and decision making skills from working as part of a team. Technically, they learned how to use new programs like GarageBand and Motion, and developed existing skills with programs like Final Cut. Regarding sound recording, they learned how to properly hold and set up sound equipment. They also gained knowledge about the horror genre despite not being a fan, such as typical aspects and audience. On a personal level, the author improved their ability to meet deadlines, communicate, and work continuously over a long period through this project.

I am now better at:

I have learnt a number of new skills:
● Use of Garage Band to create soundtrack
● Use of Motion to creat titles and add effects

presentations
● How to speed up/down sequences in Final
Cut
● Cut video in Windows Moviemaker

I have also developed skills I already had:
● Cutting video in Final Cut
● Uploading videos on Youtube
● Use of Soundcloud to upload my evaluation
● Creating a blog on Wordpress to monitor my
work

6. Sound Recording
Being responsible for sound, I have developed
my skills regarding sound recording:
● Holding the boompole so it does not appear
in the picture
● Setting up the equipment faster

7. Genre Knowledge
I am not a big fan of horrors however in the
process of making our opening sequence I
have learnt a lot about this genre:
● Who is the main audience
● What are the most famous/successful horror
films
● What are the typical aspects of horror
movies and how the atmosphere is
established

8. Personal development
I have developed my personal skills:
● The ability to keep to deadlines
● Continuous work throughout a long time
period
● Planning ahead
● Communication with others
● Patience
