Classroom assessment is a systematic approach used by teachers to evaluate student learning and understanding throughout a lesson or unit. It includes quantitative and qualitative methods to monitor comprehension and provides information to guide instruction. Formative assessment in particular helps teachers understand student progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly, while summative assessments measure learning at the end. Other assessment types include pre-assessments, norm-referenced tests, criterion-referenced tests, performance assessments, and product assessments.

What are the benefits of classroom assessment?
Throughout the course of a lesson or unit, teachers use classroom
assessment to monitor students' understanding of the concepts being
taught.

3. Classroom Assessment concepts
 Quantitative Assessment - Collects data that can be analyzed using quantitative
methods,
 Qualitative assessment is focused on understanding how people make meaning of
and experience their environment or world
 Measurement is the quantification of attributes of an object or event, which can be
used to compare with other objects or events.
 Reliability refers to whether an assessment instrument gives the same results each
time it is used in the same setting with the same type of subjects.
 Validity is a word which, in assessment, refers to two things: The ability of the
assessment to test what it intends to measure

4. Pre-assessment
 provides a way for teachers to gather key information about what
students know and are able to do prior to instruction, as well as what
student interests and learning styles are

5. Formative assessment
 help teachers understand student learning while they teach, and provide
them with information to adjust their teaching strategies accordingly.

6. Summative assessments
 measure student progress as an assessment of learning. Standardized
tests are a type of summative assessment and provide data for you,
school leaders and district leaders.

7. Norm-referenced assessments
 are tests designed to compare an individual to a group of their peers,
usually based on national standards and occasionally adjusted for age,
ethnicity or other demographics.

8. Criterion-referenced assessments
 Criterion-referenced assessments compare the score of an individual
student to a learning standard and performance level, independent of
other students around them.
 In the classroom, this means measuring student performance against
grade-level standards and can include end-of-unit or final tests to assess
student understanding.

9. Performance -Based Assessment
 A performance assessment is an assessment of the standard of your
professional performance. It provides us with an independent opinion
regarding your fitness to practise. The purpose of the assessment is not to
investigate whether any allegations made against you are true or to
investigate any specific allegations.

10. Product Assessment
 A product assessment will review your existing operations as well as
your needs and goals in order to streamline your product mix.
Product assessments find the right balance between cost savings, storage
and brand identity.

11. Project Report Format
 The write-up should focus on the specific objectives of the project,
the methodology used, and the major findings. Regarding title, instead
of giving a general, topic-like title, be specific and emphasize the explicit
nature of the work.

experience, while logs are a record of events that have happened.
