The Komodo dragon is a large reptile found on several Indonesian islands. It can grow up to 10 feet long and weigh over 300 pounds, making it the largest living lizard species. Komodo dragons are carnivorous and use their keen sense of smell and ambush tactics to catch prey as large as water buffalo. They have several physical adaptations that allow them to survive in their habitat, such as scales that protect them and help regulate their body temperature. Komodo dragons are now endangered with fewer than 2,500 remaining in the wild.
The three billy goat brothers - the youngest, middle, and oldest - were searching for green grass to eat but could not find any. They came upon a field of green grass across a bridge but a mean troll lived under the bridge and wanted to eat the goats. The youngest and middle brothers escaped by mentioning their bigger brother, and when the oldest brother confronted the troll, he convinced the troll to be friends rather than eat him. The three goats and the troll, now called Mr. T., lived happily ever after in the forest.

The Kansas-Nebraska Act of 1854 was proposed by Illinois Senator Stephen Douglas to organize the territories of Kansas and Nebraska and repeal the Missouri Compromise, which banned slavery north of latitude 36°30'. This allowed settlers in those territories to determine through popular sovereignty if they would allow slavery. The act led to violent clashes between pro-slavery and anti-slavery settlers in Kansas, known as "Bleeding Kansas", and contributed to the decline of the Whig party and rise of sectional tensions that eventually caused the Civil War.
