My beloved mother
“God could not be everywhere, and therefore he made mother.” This saying by Rudyard
Kipling kept running in my head over and over again. Although the saying is short and simple, it
presents completely all the meaning of mothers. Mothers are ones that give birth to us and represent
God to take care and guide us into the right path. They are like guardian angels who always watch
over us and protect us unconditionally. To me, the best woman in the world I have ever seen in my
life is my mother. She is the most important person in my life. I have been mentioning her in
almost all the essays I have written. However, I felt that the words that were used would never be
enough to describe her good characteristics, and how much I love her. My mother is the person I
admire most in my life due to her love and caring, her hard-working spirit and the precious lessons
that she taught me about life.
My mother has great care for me and all other family. She always takes care of all of us
before taking care of herself. There was a time she was sick, but she still got up on time and got
ready for me and my brother to go to school. When my brother and I were sleeping in beautiful
dreams, my mother woke up and made breakfast for us. The savory aroma coming from the kitchen
disturbed our slumber; however, my mother’s voice and the loving slaps on us were the thing that
woke us up. While me and my brother were having breakfast, she took our backpacks and put
books of the class we have for the day into our backpacks. I asked her: “Why don’t you get some

rest? We can take care of ourselves.” She smiled and said: “Doing this makes me happy”. That
moment I realized how much she loved us even more than herself. To her, family always goes
first. Taking good care of family becomes her hobby. She loves seeing us happy; therefore, she
also tries to provide us a comfortable life by getting us what we need. When I was in middle school,
I started learning English at school; and to have a pocket dictionary machine which was called
“golden dictionary” was very useful for study. My mother knew the benefits of it. She worked and
saved money to get me the electronic dictionary which was expensive at that time. Her heart always
thinks about her child first. Her heart is capable of crushing or hiding her own wishes to be able to
fulfill her child’s wishes first. Her kids mean the world to her, so she will always prioritize them
over any other work, or any other person in her life. In addition, she always listens to our
confidences. I heard some of my friends say that they all found it difficult in sharing secrets with
their parents. As a result, they felt lonely and lost their direction sometimes. I am truly happy to
have a “friendly” mother. Despite being a strict parent, she is close to her children and tries harder
to get to know them. I found it very comfortable to tell her all my daily stories about school,
friends, love. When I first broke up with my boyfriend, I was under depression. At that time, my
mother was by my side and gave me good advice. She shared her living experiences and told me
that the way life was. She said that when a person walked out of my life, another one was going to
get in and that person was way better than the person I met. By talking to her, I felt much more
better and felt like I had more energy to get back to work.
Furthermore, I love and admire mother because of her working spirit. My mother loves
working. Even in her free time, she will find something to do such as cleaning the house, cooking,
sewing. She takes great advantage of every moment she has. Additionally, she is not only brilliant
at her job, she also works extremely hard at it, and made sure that everything she did was done

well. Therefore, her expectation of perfection makes her meticulous in very details. Once she
works on something, that one must be completed perfectly and on time. My mom is a chef she
owns a restaurant which sells noodles. She has never stopped learning new ingredients and creating
new dishes. Cooking to her is an art. Every amount of ingredient is measured carefully and exactly
according to certain proportion. All the dishes she made are always welcomed and highly
appreciate by everyone, even by picky epicures. Although she is busy working and taking care of
family, I have never heard her complain. To some people, after a long and tiring working day, it
easily makes them become surly with anything around them. However, that thing has never
happened to my mother. She always gives people around her warm smiles and makes them feel
secure.
In addition, my mother has been my every first teacher since I was born. The first lessons
she taught me was talking and walking. I believed that the very first word very babies can say is
to call their mother such as mama, mom, ma. Obviously, they have a special connection with their
mothers because they are inside their mother 9 months; and they are with their mother in the first
months of life. Therefore, mothers have a great effect on their child development. Not only in the
very first months, but also many years after that every child still needs their mother’s guidance and
advice. I would be lost if there was no guidance from my mother. For example, I used to skip class
and hung out with a group of naughty friends. My mother was the one that showed me the bad
consequences of skipping class and how bad it would be when I was around those bad kids. She
led me from the wrong path to the right one. She wished that beautiful and good things would
come to me. Without her, I could not be the person I am right now. Besides, my mother also gives
me encouragement whenever I feel insecure. I am always undetermined when facing big decisions
in life. For instance, to go back to school is really a tough decision that I made. I got lots of advice

from my mother. She showed me the benefits of going back to school. She told me how she was
sad and regretted because she could not go to school when she was young. Her family was in poor
financial condition and could not support her to go to school like other children at same age. She
had been struggling with life to get money without a rest day. After talking to her, I made my mind
clearer and my determination became stronger than ever. Her advice made me more confident in
my decision.
In brief, I am very proud of my mother- the greatest source of my motivation and a great
model for me to follow. Although being busy working, she will never give up on her family. As a
result, nothing can stop her from taking care of her beloved family. Besides, her working spirit is
a successful key in everything she has been working on. She is not only a caring mother, but also
a best teacher. What a mother can teach me, not even the best of professors or schools can. Since
I was born, she was always there and helped me from the very first steps of life. She also taught
me valuable lessons of life and relationships, which nurture me as a person, and make me a good
human being. I would not be a good and successful person without her care and guidance. She
made me feel more confident in very decision in life that I made. My mother is a special gift from
god and I am truly thankful for that. No matter how far I go and how bad I am, she will always
watch every step that I made and always there for me with a warmth opened-arm.
