BANNING MOBILE
PHONES IN SCHOOLS
Mobile phones are a distraction for all students,
banning them will be the beginning of great learning.
A study in 2017 found that, 45% of
parents send their children to
school equipped with a phone,
almost more than double since
2013.
(Englander, 2018)
Students are spending more
time on their mobile phones
than they do on their
schoolwork.
Once students begin to fall
behind in their schoolwork,
their self-esteem begins to
lower, and they then will put
all their attention into their
phones rather than their
school work.
It is found that
students who did not
use mobile phones
during class time
wrote down 62%
more notes than
those who used
phones.
(Kuznekoff & Titsworth, 2013)
Permitting the use of phones
in class prevents students from
asking questions, leading to
students cheating with their
phones and using them for
other purposes.
A study with nearly 4,500
students conducted in an US
elementary school found that
children with a mobile phone
in school were involved with
bullying and cyberbullying and
they were found to be a bully
and a bully/victim.

Say no to mobile phones and
stop the bullying!
Mobile phones
should be banned
from all primary
and high schools
during school
hours!
