The FBM KLCI index gained 1.17 points or 0.07% on Wednesday. The Finance Index fell 0.01% to
13789.46 points, the Properties Index up 0.04% to 1161.46 points and the Plantation Index rose
0.12% to 7559.32 points. The market traded within a range of 5.84 points between an intra-day
high of 1646.48 and a low of 1640.64 during the session.
Actively traded stocks include TIGER, SANICHI, DUFU, AAX, APFT, BORNOIL, SUPERMX-C8, XOX,
FBMKLCI-HK and INSTACO. Trading volume increased to 1932.98 mil shares worth RM1888.91
mil as compared to Tuesday’s 1802.14 mil shares worth RM2116.49 mil.
Leading Movers were GENM (+6 sen to RM4.21), BAT (+80 sen to RM56.70), PETCHEM (+9 sen to
RM7.44), ASTRO (+2 sen to RM2.45) and GENTING (+6 sen to RM7.35). Lagging Movers were
RHBCAP (-7 sen to RM5.37), WPRTS (-4 sen to RM3.86), SIME (-7 sen to RM7.28), UMW (-6 sen
to RM7.37) and AXIATA (-4 sen to RM6.14). Market breadth was positive with 459 gainers as
compared to 371 losers.
The KLCI stay in positive territory after closed higher at 1642.54 points amid overnight gains in
Wall Street. The KLCI was mainly lifted by gains in Genting and Astro.
