The FBM KLCI index lost 13.59 points or 0.85% on Friday. The Finance Index fell 1.19% to 13924.63
points, the Properties Index up 0.09% to 1107.93 points and the Plantation Index down 0.38% to
6813.29 points. The market traded within a range of 14.71 points between an intra-day high of 1602.32
and a low of 1587.61 during the session.
Actively traded stocks include IFCAMSC, FBMKLCI-HK, IDMENSN, PRIVA, FRONTKN, SUMATEC, APFT,
KNM, FBMKLCI-H5 and GENTINGC23. Trading volume increased to 1848.98 mil shares worth RM1580.53
mil as compared to Thursday’s 1713.50 mil shares worth RM1533.25 mil.
Leading Movers were PETDAG (+46 sen to RM21.46), HLBANK (+8 sen to RM13.24), TM (+2 sen to
RM6.55), PPB (+4 sen to RM15.22) and WPRTS (+1 sen to RM4.21). Lagging Movers were CIMB (-20 sen
to RM4.75), GENTING (-24 sen to RM6.91), GENM (-13 sen to RM4.06), AMMB (-10 sen to RM4.30) and
RHBCAP (-10 sen to RM6.06). Market breadth was negative with 324 gainers as compared to 452 losers.
The KLCI erased yesterday’s gains and closed lower at 1589.16 points as investors await non-farm report
to provide the last major clue on U.S.’s economy before the Federal Reserve next meets. The perform-
ance of our local bourse was in tandem with most of our regional peers.
