This document provides an overview of an environmental geography course. The course will introduce students to environmental problems facing the world today, with a focus on population growth, economic growth, declines in traditional cultures, poverty, energy use, climate change, and their impacts. Using geographic perspectives, students will examine how to best protect nature while ensuring an adequate standard of living for all. Topics covered will include the biosphere, environmental issues related to natural resources, contamination, human activities, and considerations of sustainable societies. Assessments will include quizzes, exams, blog posts, questions, a research project, and presentations.
