The Convention on Cluster Munitions entered into force on August 1, 2010, banning the use of cluster munitions. The first meeting of States Parties to the Convention was held in Vientiane, Laos from November 8-12, 2010 to discuss implementation and universalization efforts. Over 100 countries have endorsed the global ban on cluster munitions.
