Juggling the demands of netball trainings, friends,
family, work and school meant that I had to plan
my time well and focus on each task at hand.
Work hard, Play hard and Live in the moment.

emotions and compose my replies no
10. 2. Making Critical Decisions
In a game, you can never anticipation ALL the scenarios. While we
train and simulate various court situations, it only at best helps me to
recognise the situation. The decisions made are reactions to the
circumstances and are split second ones. Similarly, in the work I
do, there will be times where decisions need to be made in absence
of all the answers. I have learnt to be comfortable making such
decisions.
11. 3. Honing
Leadership
skills
I lead a team of 12
women towards a
common goal – to be
the best we can be
collectively as a team.
The win is often the by-
product of that shared
vision. Its about charting
a compelling Vision that
everyone believes in
and leading from the
front. I’ve translated
some of these
leadership skills into the
workplace, with success.
12. 4. Working with Cultural Diversity
Fierce competition on court aside, off court friendships and mutual
respect are tenets of elite sport. The opportunity to travel to different
countries and interact with athletes of all nationalities have taught
me invaluable skills to connect in a culturally divest workplace
