UNICEF has effectively utilized ICT to support healthcare systems, benefiting 85.8 million health workers and mothers in 18 countries. Real-time monitoring initiatives, such as in Pakistan and Bangladesh, have led to significant increases in immunization and antenatal/postnatal care satisfaction. Additionally, UNICEF's health system strengthening approach has notably reduced childhood stunting and improved child and maternal mortality rates since 1990.

4. UNICEF has harnessed the power of ICT to
support countries to ensure that every child
survives and thrives.

5. Around the world, 85.8 million mothers, community
health workers, vaccinators, and health facility staff in
18 countries have benefited from digital health platforms
and the communities they connect to the health system.

6. In October 2018, more than 37 million Pakistan children
received measles vaccination during a 12-day supplementary
immunization campaign, using real-time monitoring powered
by RapidPro, according to government reports.

7. As of December, in Bangladesh, initial results indicate that 89 percent
of registered pregnant women using the real-time monitoring by RapidPro
have received antenatal care and 99 percent reported satisfaction with those
services; and 91 percent of registered lactating women received postnatal
care and 97 reported that they are satisfied to this support.

9. Stunting (chronic undernutrition) among children below five
decreased from 40 percent in 1990 to 25 percent in 2013

10. Since 1990, through the UNICEF Health System Strengthening
Approach remarkable gains have been made in improving outcomes
for children and women. The number of children dying before the
age of five years has almost halved and similar progress has been
made in maternal mortality.
