This document summarizes a research study on the employability gap among engineering graduates in Gujarat, India. The study found that while the quantity of engineering graduates has increased, the quality and employability has decreased. Through surveys of employers and recently hired graduates, the study aimed to understand employer perceptions of needed skills and their satisfaction levels, as well as graduate confidence in their skills and perceived gaps.
The study found that employer satisfaction levels were moderate overall. Employers viewed soft skills like willingness to learn as most important, while being least satisfied with skills like problem solving and written communication.
