HOW TO MEDITATE FOR
BEGINNERS ?

How long we should meditate?
WHERE SHOULD I MEDITATE?
• We can be mindful anywhere doing anything
• Meditating on floor with our back straight up is actually considered to be the most
formal and beneficial way to meditate
• Keeps us wide awake and allows us to sit long period of time
WHAT DO I DO WITH MY BODY?
• Feet needs to be criss-crossed on top of each other.
• Hands should rest on each other.
• Back should be straight
• Head should be facing forward.
• Eyes should be closed as its easier to focus.
HOW LONG SHOULD I MEDITATE
FOR?
• Set an Alarm.
• For beginners is 5 mins.
• Recommendation is to 10 - 20 mins.
WHAT DO I DO DURING
MEDITATION?
• Mindfulness breathing meditation.
• Focus on breathing.
• Distractions can occur at some time.
• But focus back to our breathing.
• Don’t move while meditating.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I MEDITATE?
• Benefits only come if we meditate on a regular basis.
• Arnold Schwarzenegger who does it 20 mins a day and 20 mins before he goes to
bed.
WHEN WILL I START SEEING
BENEFITS?
Depends on:
1) Frequency
2) How long
3) Differ from person
to person
