Emma Richler is a Canadian author known for her novels exploring misfits and misguided love. She gave up her career as an actor in 1998 to focus on writing when she felt a strong compulsion to write. Her latest novel, Be My Wolff, took over 10 years to write and tells the story of a young woman who falls in love with her adopted brother. Richler spends hours each day walking and thinking to develop her stories, and writes her first drafts by hand with fountain pens rather than typing. She was encouraged in her writing by her late father, renowned Canadian author Mordecai Richler.
