EMILY - If you have a green ribbon on your chair please stand up. Can everyone look around the room and notice how many people are standing, it is about 25% of the people in this room. 1 in 4 people will have mental illness in their lifetime, everyone standing is someone with a mental illness. It can affect anyone.

It became clear to us that we have staff that have little to no understanding or experience with mental illness and we wanted to improve their understanding and support our staff.
TOBY -
By the year 2020 the mental health and behavioral health field will have a shortage of employees (is this accurate????) is Telecare‘s mission that we grow to meet the need to service individuals with complex and needs to have them reach their dreams this video will help encourage current employees refresh their views and help excite new employees. We are hoping that our video about what mental health is and what it looks like from peers, peer staff, and the individuals we serve to inform hire , train and retains staff. This will help us reach the goal and need of 2020.
We will be providing the video and conversation tools at the monthly huddle , huddle plus as needed, administrator huddles, standardization meetings for leaders. At the program level this can be implemented during all staff meetings or small team group discussions and as ongoing tools for supervisors. (Dakota & Lynette to create visual roll out plan, 3 phases) We will also be showing these at showing parties once approved at our individual programs from the emerging leaders to show our work.
Our hope is that this becomes available on Relias as a training for current and new employees to start a conversation to help our staff grow with us. Staff will print it out and bring it to their supervisor for a discussion.
