business called xAI: Understand the Universe, according to official filings in Nevada.
These developments indicate Musk's serious intent to pursue his vision of an AI project
that diverges from OpenAI, an AI startup that he has criticized publicly on multiple
occasions.
Earlier this year, there were reports that Musk was in discussions with investors from
Tesla and space exploration Technologies Corp. to secure funding for an AI startup. It
was also reported that Musk had acquired a significant number of processors from
Nvidia Corp. for this new project.
It is worth noting that despite Musk's involvement in AI projects, he was among a group
of techindustry leaders and researchers who advocated for a pause in the training of
powerful AI models earlier this year.
