Issac Newton discover that white light could be disassembled into a band of coloured light and he named this the spectrum (think Pink Floyd’s Dark side of the moon). There is nothing in the spectrum to suggest that it can be naturally divided into discrete colours and so the distinction between colours is entirely based on the observer's physiology. You could say, colour is in the eye of the beholder.
If colour is subjective, how can computers understand it?
In this talk I will discuss the ways in which colour can be
represented digitally and the problems this can cause with assigning names to colours. I’ll end the talk by showing some applications of colour detection at Lyst using fashion images.

William Shakespeare was considered a feminist during the 15th century for creating unique and relatable female characters in his plays. Some of his most notable female characters include Lady Macbeth, who manipulates her husband into killing for power but goes insane without it; Queen Gertrude, whose complex character leaves her mysterious motivations unclear; and Juliet Capulet, who matures from a naive girl into an independent thinker through her love for Romeo. Shakespeare crafted his female characters to have depth and commentary on politics, power, and gender roles of the time in innovative ways.

During the Elizabethan era, fashion varied greatly between the rich and poor. The upper class wore extravagant, colorful clothing made from fine materials, while the poor wore simple, dull outfits made from basic fabrics. Women typically wore long gowns with corsets, ruffs, shoes, and hats. Men wore doublets, breeches, ruffs, hats, and collars, along with shirts, stockings, and codpieces underneath. Sumptuary laws strictly governed clothing styles and what could be worn by social class during this time.

Elizabethan music took many forms and played an important role in entertainment. It included church music, street music performed in markets and fairs, music performed by household musicians for nobility and wealthy families, and theatre music to accompany Shakespeare's plays. Composers wrote flexible music that could be arranged for different available instruments.
