Zuppo (2012) defined ICT (Information & Communication
Technology) in a study as related to technologies that
facilitate the transfer of information and various types of
electronically mediated communication.

It can also be defined as: all the technologies used to
handle broadcast media, telecommunications, intelligent
building management systems, network-based control and
monitoring functions, audio-visual processing and
transmission systems and others.

An act of transmitting messages;
a process of exchange of
information between individuals
through verbal and non-verbal
means. Forms of
communications have evolved.
We all know that ICT take a major
role for us by means of
communicating, back in the past
our parents use to make letter
and send it via post mail.

Being able to use ICT systems
effectively allows employees more
time to concentrate on areas of
their job role that require soft
skills. With ICT skills is vital to the
smooth running of any business.

considerably favoring information
and communications technology.
ICT are related to the devices,
resources and tools needed to
improve the acquisition, retrieval,
storage and use of information in
health and biomedicine
10. F I N A N C E
ICT is used daily by financial
companies, to trade financial
instruments, to report a business's
earnings, and to keep records of
personal budgets

provides quick access to
affordable, and better means of
communication in the form of
Instant Messaging, and VoIP
phone.

One of the most significant changes
in socializing due to technology is the
rise of social media. Platforms like
Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram
have become ubiquitous in college
culture. Students use these platforms
to connect with their peers, share
their experiences, and build
communities around shared
interests..

One of the most significant ICT
applications in agriculture is
precision farming. Utilizing GPS
and GIS technologies, precision
farming allows farmers to
monitor their fields closely,
ensuring optimal utilization of
resources and maximizing yield.
16. B U S I N E S S
The role of ICT in business is to
provide tools and systems that
enable efficient communication,
data management, analysis, and
decision-making processes, as
well as to enhance productivity,
customer engagement, and
competitive advantage

The development of
Information and
Communication
Technologies (ICT) has
strong potential to transform
economies and societies in
several ways, such as
reducing information and
transaction costs, creating
new collaborative models to
increase the efficiency of
workers, promoting
innovation, and improving
education and access to
basic services.

It helps people to communicate
fast,
can travel to certain places and
can also trade goods
all over the world. By the help of
tech it became much more
comfortable to
the society.
PROS
The communication in each
family are becoming less
because of the daily use of
mobile phones and
computers that leads to
miscommunication. Tech is to
be blamed for the negative
effects of climate change
CONS
19. P R O N S
( A C C E S S T O

Possibly the greatest effect of ICT on individuals is the huge
increase in access to information and services that has
accompanied the growth of the Internet. Some of the positive
aspects of this increased access are better, and often cheaper,
communications, such as VoIP phone and Instant Messaging. In
addition, the use of ICT to access information has brought new
opportunities for leisure and entertainment, the facility to make
contacts and form relationships with people around the world, and
the ability to obtain goods and services from a wider range of
suppliers.
20. P R O N S
( I M P R O V E D A C C E S S T O

e.g. distance learning and on-line tutorials. New ways of
learning, e.g. interactive multi-media and virtual reality.
New job opportunities, e.g. flexible and mobile working,
virtual offices and jobs in the communications industry.
21. P R O N S
( N E W T O O L S , N E W
O P P O R T U N I T I E S )
It gives access to new tools that did not previously exist. A
lot of these are tied into the access to information
mentioned above, but there are many examples of stand-
alone ICT systems as well
22. P R O N S
( N E W T O O L S , N E W
O P P O R T U N I T I E S )
ICT can be used for processes that had previously been out of
the reach of most individuals, e.g. photography, where digital
cameras, photo-editing software and high quality printers have
enabled people to produce results that would previously required
a photographic studio.
ICT can be used to help people overcome disabilities. e.g. screen
magnification or screen reading software enables partially sighted
or blind people to work with ordinary text rather than Braille.
23. C O N S
( J O B L O S S )
Job losses may occur for several reasons, including: Manual
operations being replaced by automation. e.g. robots replacing
people on an assembly line.Job export. e.g. Data processing
work being sent to other countries where operating costs are
lower. Multiple workers being replaced by a smaller number
who are able to do the same amount of work.
24. C O N S
( R E D U C E D P H Y S I C A L
I N T E R A C T I O N )
Being able to work from home is usually regarded as
being a positive effect of using ICT, but there can be
negative aspects as well. Most people need some form of
social interaction in their daily lives and if they do not get
the chance to meet and talk with other people they may
feel isolated and unhappy.
25. C O N S
( R E D U C E D P H Y S I C A L
A C T I V I T Y )
A third negative effect of ICT is that users may adopt a
more sedentary lifestyle. This can lead to health problems
such as obesity, heart disease, and diabetes. Many
countries have workplace regulations to prevent problems
such as repetitive strain injury or eyestrain, but lack of
physical exercise is rarely addressed as a specific health
hazard.
26. O V E R V I E W
It's amazing how fast and modernised our technology
changes. Though there are advantages of having a
very modern technology, there are also some
disadvantages. But what is a known fact is that your
adaptation and endurance to the existence or non-
existence of technology depends on the genre where you
were born.
