By Jorge Hidalgo & Vicente Gonzalez, September 21st, 2016.
Automating tests of Java web applications should not be hard. Selenium is a well-known open source tool for automating user interactions within a browser that enables you to run the same test scripts across multiple browser types and operating systems unmodified. This session presents several recipes for working effectively with Selenium: multibrowser selectable tests, patterns for working with asynchronous calls, the page object pattern, and others. Armed with these recipes, developers will increase their proficiency in Selenium test automation and become even more productive in their day-to-day job.

This document discusses how companies can boost their brand reach through employee social media advocacy. It provides an example of how a company with 1,000 employees and 500 on LinkedIn could increase its potential LinkedIn follower reach from 3,000 to 30,000 by having 100 employees share approved content. The benefits of employee advocacy include thought leadership, lead generation, employee engagement, shortened sales cycle, and massive brand reach. Case studies are presented showing how various companies increased their brand reach, web traffic, and sales through employee advocacy programs.
This document provides 20 tips for successfully launching an employee advocacy pilot program. It recommends getting leadership buy-in, using an enterprise social media platform, curating relevant content, starting with enthusiastic early adopters, aligning the program with business goals, tracking performance metrics, rewarding employee participation, calculating return on investment, and celebrating early wins to promote continued momentum. The overall guidance is to take a long-term, strategic approach to employee advocacy rather than expecting immediate results.
