5. • De la cantera a l’obra
• El temple es va realitzar tot sencer amb el
marbre blanc procedent del mont
“Pentélico”, que es trobava a uns 16
kilòmetres al nord-est d’Atenes.
6. • El temple és de planta rectangular, amb
columnes en tot el seu perímetre:
8 columnes frontals y 17 laterals.
7. El temple a Atenea sobre la muntanya sagrada
de l’Acròpoli dominava la ciutat.
8. L’any 480 a. C.(fa 2.500 anys) el poble persa va
atacar la ciutat d’ Atenes i van destruir el
temple del Partenó.
9. La ciutat d’Atenes estava totalment destruïda.
Va ser Pericles, que manava en aquell
moment,qui la va fer reconstruir amb l’ajuda
dels millors arquitectes i escultors.
10. Atenea era filla del déu Zeus. Aquest
l’estimava tant, que li va deixar utilitzar el
seu escut i el seu raig. Vestia com una
guerrera per poder defensar la ciutat.
11. El Partenó era el temple de la deessa Atenea.
En el seu interior hi havia una monumental
estàtua d’Atenea.
12. Escultura d’Atenea de 12 metres d’alçada. Està
feta amb marfil, or i pedres precioses. Porta
una túnica fins als peus, una llança i un escut
amb una serp.

• En una roca de l’ Acròpolis Poseidon va
clavar el trident i va fer nàixer una font
