TV3, Ireland's first independent commercial broadcaster, was looking to reduce its high call costs. It selected Voice over IP (VoIP) from eircom to carry all outgoing voice traffic. This is allowing TV3 to realize significant cost savings of an estimated 30% on its phone bills by switching to VoIP. Maintaining call quality was also important, and TV3 has been pleased with the reliable voice service provided over eircom's IP network. The transition to VoIP was smooth and unnoticed by employees.
