This document discusses building a framework for simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) using Apache Spark and IoT sensors. The performance evaluation of proposed system takes place by capturing the image of UGV with help of camera. This system demonstrate accurate localization of UGV. This UGV vehicle used in military, mall, automobile industry. To work system properly provide proper interfacing and synchronization between hardware/software module.

Our algorithms for Target Recognition and Tracking are designed from the beginning to be run on embedded systems. We target both GPU and FPGA devices.
To Train and Validate our algorithms we developed a process to generate photorealistic 3D environments.
Those 3D Environments are used to produce realistic video streams of the targets in different environmental conditions (lighting, adverse meteorological conditions, camouflage, point-of-view).
The same technology can be used to Train and Test Automotive Vision Systems.

Ahmed Sadek, Senior Director of Engineering at Qualcomm, presents the “Autonomous Driving AI Workloads: Technology Trends and Optimization Strategies” tutorial at the May 2022 Embedded Vision Summit.
Enabling safe, comfortable and affordable autonomous driving requires solving some of the most demanding and challenging technological problems. From centimeter-level localization to multimodal sensor perception, sensor fusion, behavior prediction, maneuver planning and trajectory planning and control, each one of these functions introduces its own unique challenges that must be solved, verified, tested and deployed on the road.
In this talk, Sadek reviews recent trends in AI workloads for autonomous driving as well as promising future directions. He covers AI workloads in camera, radar and lidar perception, AI workloads in environmental modeling, behavior prediction and drive policy. To enable optimized network performance at the edge, quantization and neural architecture optimization are typically performed either during training or post-training. Q-learning is one of the most commonly used DRL algorithms for self-driving cars. It comes under the category of model-free learning. In model-free learning, the agent will try to approximate the optimal state-action pair. The policy still determines which action-value pairs or Q-value are visited and updated (see the equation below). The goal is to find optimal policy by interacting with the environment while modifying the same when the agent makes an error.

In the past few years Autonomous vehicles have gained importance due to its widespread applications in the field of civilian and military applications. On-board camera on autonomous vehicles captures the images which need to be processed in real time using the image segmentation algorithm. On board processing of video(frames)in real time is a big challenging task as it involves extracting the information and performing the required operations for navigation.This paper proposes an approach for vision based autonomous vehicle navigation in indoor environment using the designed image segmentation algorithm. The vision based navigation is applied to autonomous vehicle and it is implemented using the Raspberry Pi camera module on Raspberry Pi Model-B+ with the designed image segmentation algorithm. The image segmentation algorithm has been built using smoothing,thresholding, morpho- logical operations, and edge detection. The reference images of directions in the path are detected by the vehicle and accordingly it moves in right or left directions or stops at destination. The vehicle finds the path from source to destination using reference directions. It first captures the video,segments the video(frame by frame), finds the edges in the segmented frame and moves accordingly. The Raspberry Pi also transmits the capture video and segmented results using the Wi-Fi to the remote system for monitoring. The autonomous vehicle is also capable of finding obstacle in its path and the detection is done using the ultrasonic sensors.
Programmable Hardware - An Overview

6 [progress report] for this leisurely side-project I was doing in 2016
1) The document is a progress report for a research project on implementing stereo vision and structure from motion algorithms on an FPGA to enable autonomous navigation of unmanned vehicles without human control.
2) The goal is to use stereo vision depth to estimate the vehicle's trajectory and detect obstacles, and to incorporate structure from motion to continuously adapt the trajectory and ensure the vehicle reaches its destination.
3) The proposed system would be tested on a quadcopter drone equipped with cameras and an FPGA, with the aim of autonomously taking off, navigating to a destination while avoiding obstacles, and landing, to demonstrate autonomous navigation capabilities.

Simultaneous Mapping and Navigation For Rendezvous in Space Applications

The reference images of directions in the path are detected by the vehicle and accordingly it moves in right or left directions or stops at destination. The vehicle finds the path from source to destination using reference directions. It first captures the video,segments the video(frame by frame), finds the edges in the segmented frame and moves accordingly. The Raspberry Pi also transmits the capture video and segmented results using the Wi-Fi to the remote system for monitoring. The autonomous vehicle is also capable of finding obstacle in its path and the detection is done using the ultrasonic sensors.
